New Truck!!

Well, after several long talks with the wife I decided it was best not to buy another 10 right now. I almost pulled the trigger on terryp's CE. I needed something a little more practical with some extra room.

I picked up a new 11' GMC all terrain z71 with the 6.2L engine I've never owned anything but GM other than my viper trucks. I plan to do a whipple supercharger and some wheels this winter sometime hopefully.:rock:

I wanted a CC 4x4 that would fit in my garage. Also the wife and I don't have any kids yet but will someday.

Besides my SRT-10's I've never owned nothing but GM trucks. My 95' z71 has 236k and I've never done anything to it. That's proof enough to stick with GM IMHO

There's lots more aftermarket stuff for these trucks than any other

yeah i was gonna say i have LOTS of friends with Chevys and never heard of any major problems except things that are gonna break from being abused and reg maintaince stuff.

BTW that 6.2 feels HEALTLY!!

Yes, the 409hp 6.2 runs well. Can't even compare to the 5.3

Before I was seriously considering my SRT-10 I was pretty set on a GMC Z71 but, every dealership I went to either ignored me or didn't have the larger motors. 5.3 was too small after driving my GTO with a 6.0.

The 6.2 is hard to come byThe dealer I bought from is one of the highest volume truck sellers.I think they had 250 CCSB trucks on there lot and only 3 with the 6.2L. They went to Missiouri to pick mine up.

I think with just exhaust and a good tune the truck would be pretty quick. What's sad is that in its stock form I bet its already faster than the chevy SS was:hahaha:

very nice truck. my wife's escalade has the 6.2. ive done magnaflow, sct tuner and cold air kit. it runs well even in that heavy all wheel drive beast. congrats.
