It was the repair department that I was connected with... I think they may have seen a few.
The case lugs (the tabs coming off the case that hold the band on) DO wrap around the top and sides of the band.... yes. (As shown, below)
That doesn't mean the band itself isn't replaceable.

If it is held in by pins, it is replaceable.

You just have to find the right size band (they are measured in millimeters). There are literally dozens of great band/strap/bracelet companies out there.
Let me try to clear up a little confusion here:
Yes- you can replace the watch band on the Tissot....BUT...it has to be replaced with a Tissot band.
Yes- it has pins, but those pins are for replacing/installing a Tissot band.
No- you can not replace it with a band like this:
(Relax, Jake. It's just an example.)
I understand how watch bands attach (I've been doing it a long time too). I even modified this Swatch band to fit the G-Shock pins.
The Tissot has a pin that holds the band onto the watch body. It basically runs along the same line as the blue bar in this pic:
Here's the problem with the Tissot and trying to use non-Tissot bands:
You can REPLACE them with Tissot metal or rubber bands, but I don't think you can use non-Tissot bands.

I am curious tho... What didn't you like about the bracelet on the Tissot? The one I noted earlier (with the titanium bracelet) is VERY close to the same design as my TAG... and it is extremely comfortable. There are no pressure points that I can feel on mine (and the way my computer sits on my desk, my wrist sits on the desk all day while typing.... no issues). :dontknow:
This might freak you out a little.
The stainless steel on this current band is actually worn down on some of the face edges. I can also show you the spot on my desk where the silver is embedded into the formica top. I wish I was kidding.
I need a flush-latching band. The latch needs to be the same thickness as the band. Here are some shots of the current band:
CLOSED:
(check out the angled wear on the dome section of that first link!)
OPEN:
(sorry- the camera flash is freaking out on me lately)
The "fold over clasp w/side buttons" won't work. Those buttons *will* get tapped and the watch will slip off my wrist. I've tried those before. They either get deformed or I break them.
The current watch band is 2.0mm thick.
I'd like to keep the new one as close to that as possible.
Insane yet?
