Newbie here: Buying a 05 SRT-10 need advice PLEASE HELP

hello, im new to the forum,

i'm buying a 2005 QC Dodge Ram SRT10 Silver with black, it has a Paxton Supercharger (8 lbs), new rockers, Belanger haders, Magnaflow catback, & a few other lil things, the guy says the truck dynoed at 616rwhp

i had a few questions for you guys,

i'm coming out of an 05 Corvette that used to pull a 12.5 in the 1/4
my question is Will this truck be faster then that? what should it run?

its got like 25K on her, is that high for Viper Trucks? and what should be a good price for a truck like that with those mods?

Welcome Larry. With buying a used FI truck there are some thing you gotta consider. First how is the tranny? Still stock? Why does it have new rockers? Whom did the install and tune on the paxton? 25k miles is nothing xcept of course if they were all done near redline!!!:dontknow:

Its worth what your willing to pay for it. Nobody gets the cost of mods for the truck. I imagine its worth close to blue book......forget how much he spent on mods.

12.5 ? Good question.....your problem is traction. Its gonna be close. Maybe some of the SC quad guys will chime in.

Are you purchasing the truck from a dealer or an individual ? The folks areound here may know something about the truck if you have some pics and the location of the vehicle

I wouldnt worry too much about the mileage but as Patrick said, if its still got the stock tranny then I would consider the trans upgrade cost in the price.

8lbs of boost and only 616rwhp ? SAE ? Can you find out who installed and tuned it ?

It should run low 12's on stock tires np unless you are at significant elevation. Traction is going to be a huge problem and you wont be able to got to WOT until after the first shift.

If you want something that can also hang with or even surpass your 05 Vette in the twisties, then search for a RC

trucks in S.C, buying it used from a privet owner, LEE DODGE in n.y did all the mods when truck was brand new, so i dont no how good the tune is being from a dealer?


tranny is stock, rockers we're changed from the dealer, the dealer told him that they would warranty the truck with the supercharger & all other mod as long as he did the rockers to build up the engine or something so he did, that

so the truck is still coverd under the bumber to bumber warranty with all the mods,

I would get it in writing (warranty) FROM the dealer who is covering the warranty. Then, I would take the truck to a reputable tuner in the area (underground, Joe...etc..) and have then look over the truck, and he current tune in it.

Any QC with a Paxton is going to need a tranny...its just the 48 tranny; so figure a new transmission will/is needed.

How much for the truck? You will need a new tranny soon! If you put a few grand into your vette the QC would never keep up. That being said corvettes are a dime a dozen but people google over our trucks. If you get traction in the QC should be pretty fast...bout 12.3ish
