i had the cats cut and had my local exhaust shop weld in straight pipes. i did not use o2 simulators and my check engine light has stayed on. i knew this was going to happen. my question is...does me not using o2 sims, does that hinder my performance. i heard somewhere that when your CEL comes on (depending on what the CEL is on for), your engine backs the timing down a bit to be on the safe side. is any of this true? does the CEl affect my performance? :dontknow:

Did you remove both the front and the rear cats or just the rears?

Thanks!
