Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if they make/made OEM replacement black factory seat belts for our SRT/10 trucks with the air big sensor, etc? I'm customising The Batrams interior and dying the light grey belts I have now is a last resort. I've Googled and Googled and nothing. I've seen 3 point belts, universal ones, but, they don't have the air bag sensor like our OEMs.

I'm waiting to hear back from Moparracing (vendor) to see if he knows, being a dealer and all. I have seen that the 04/05 models had dark grey (slate?) belts which if there is no black would do nicely. Just need some part #s so any help is appreciated and perhaps a place to buy them from. While I'm here, I also need the interior door handles, in black, nothing on eBay.

Cheers,
Carl

You may consider having your current belts re-webbed. I'm not sure how well the nylon belts will take and retain dye. I'd hate to see the dye wear off on you or your significant others white shirt. There's a place in the states called Ssnake Oyl that does belt restoration but maybe you can find someplace closer that does the same thing.

You could also buy the webbing and take it someplace to have them sewn up. Rochford Supply and Seatbelts Plus have the webbing.

Thanks mate, I have heard of SsnakeOyl people and from what I have heard they do great work but their turn around is slow, not to mention I'd have to send my belts over there which would make it even longer. But thanks all the same mate. :)

being i run a plastic molding shop and we run many types of nylon i can tell you for sure dye will not soak in to nylon vary well and will come off after a short time

Yeah, dang, thanks for the second thought and opinion. My shop wasn't happy about doing that if at all. Hence my die straits need for OEM in either slate or black. Anyone know part #s or if they made black? What are your 04/05 belts guys, slate like I think I saw in the photos or the 06 "silver" color?

Cheers,
Carl

Did you see the part of my first post where the places sell black seat belt webbing. Then you just have someone sew them up. I think that is going to be your best bet. I just checked the color of my belts. They look black to me. You might try these guys:

Carl I have been looking for black belts too....04/05 belts are black but the connectors are different from the 06.....I never could find out if they would work if the connections were modified....Chrysler dealer tech support refused to even discuss it with my service mgr....liablity reasons I assume.............

Sorry Dave, nope, I totally missed your first post's links, my bad, I must have overlooked it thinking it was part of your signature. Rochford Supply's belts aren't suitable for vehicle use but the Seat belts Plus rolls are. I will talk to my resto shop and see if that is the route we want to take. :)

Thanks TNVIPER - That sucks eh! Have you tried any of VTCOA's vendors? :dontknow:

Cheers,
Carl

I'm pretty sure the belts in my yellow fever are black, or at least a dark slate color

That's what I think too but TNVIPER doesn't seem to think they will fit/work and has had no confirmation from Dodge. Does anyone have any photos of their belt set up, the lower main unit behind the lower rear panel? Tall order but worth asking, someone may have snapped some shots while they were doing something. Dark slate works well. I'm going to recover my stock seats with black leather but keep the dark grey insert to break them up a little so the belts would work well in the theme. Looking at the photos below TN, I think they won't work as the 04/05s are only 2 point, ours are 3-point (1 mount to the seat). Looks like new webbing MAY be the only way to go.

I think both would be considered 3 point. The 04/05 belts anchor to the floor next to the seat. The 06 anchors in the lower side frame of the seat itself. I thing the anchor wont really matter but the retractor inside the side panel has different wire connectors. The connectors can be modified but I was afraid that it would affect the firing mechanism...could even be dangerous...

Have taken mine to the resto shop to give to a belts specialist to see if he can pull them apart and use black webbing. He does it but not for just anyone off the street, it's not 100% legal here but some shops do it every now and then. Apparently it's made harder (if not impossible) to do so safely as our belts have pretensioners which like airbags, are pyrotechnic devices triggered by the crash sensors. They "can" be done but it depends on the vehicles make and model. I've got them off and in his hands so that's all I can do at this stage. I spent half of the day stripping the Batrams interior from stock to bugger all lol, it was fun. :) Now comes the masking, spray, recovering and subtle Batman touches.......:D :D :D Let me know if you find anything on the belts, I'll do likewise. ;) I still need black interior door handles.
