Does $97.00 sound a bit much for an oil change at the dealer? Oil was $8.96 a qt and filter was $5.49 and the rest was labor. Man oh man, smoke a Roytan. Ouch.:(

I did mine for about 80 bucks, that was using a K&N filter, mobil 1 synthetic oil and 2 qts of lucas oil. You can do a search of the thread I did regarding this.

Dealers charge between $90 and $120.....that's actually decent for a dealer change....

It a good price when your old at fat like me.

Dealers allways rake you over the coals.... BTW not that I would ever take my 10 to them in the first place is Econo Lube and Tune, I brought my diesel in there one time few years back and wanted an oil change.

They were offering a OC for $14.99 which included 5 qts, filter, labor, and EPA fees.

So I knew that I would have to pay more, as my diesel took 15 quarts, and the filter price was about $3-4 dollars more also.

The estimated the cost at $89!!! I gasped at that.. how did they ever come up with such a price for the 10 quarts more of the same oil (which BTW was less than $2.00/qt, less if purchased in bulk), so at most including a little bit of extra profit the oil change should have been $44.99 - $49.99!

I changed it myself using turbo diesel grade oil (15 qts, filter) for $35.00, and about 30 minutes of my time.

Econo my arse!! OK.. I am off my pedestal now...

Even if it's a decent price from the dealer, I won't pay that much when I can do it for 50-70 like Red said. But then, I don't mind doing all my own maintenance. That is unless it's covered under waranty, then I let them do it:D

My dealer would charge $118 ;) Therefore I change my own unless I have a coupon or they owe me one.....

When I bought my 10 they gave me a coupon for a free oil change.. which I still have to use... I change my own for about $72.00 ($5.99/qt Mobil 1, and $5.99 for Bosch Filter) plus tax.

My dearlership actually told me to bring in my own oil and filter and they would only charge $25 for the labor. I would ask if they would do the same for you. I had also been getting coupons for $39 oil change at the dealership and they would charge me about $69 total all said and done (extra oil etc.)

Hell, my stealership had no idea how many quarts went into my truck. Your best bet is to do it yourself.....atleast you know its done right:D .
And look this is coming from a guy who can't even find the dipstick:dontknow: :D, but I can put air in the tires..

It doesn't cost me a dime. The dealer I purchase the truck does the oil changes and state inspections for free for life...

HOLY POO. If I had my car done at the dealer they would charge me 140 euros about 180 dollars to change the oil. I just laughed at them when they told me how much it was.
