Does anyone have access to instructions on replacing my oil pump. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
paul

Start by draining the oil & checking it for metal parts. Also look at the magnet on the drain plug for debris. Found a 1" piece of ring on mine. Then I knew it was all over but the crying. Also that the engine had to come out. You can also cut open the oil filter to look for metal inside. Un Fortunately something broke inside that's why the engine locked up.

Just can't believe it...... I only drive it a couple times a month, change the oil every 1000 miles, I baby the dam thing, I just don't understand what could have happened.
Like I said it's going to be a long expensive summer:mad:
any help/advice that can be offered through this process will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

First thing is to remove the starter and confirm it still work. Then , remove the valve covers to see if you have a broken spring. Then remove all spark plugs, the belt and the lower pulley. Use a breaker bar and see if you can spin the engine by hand. One thing at a time and elliminate the easy stuff. Try to have some fun with it !

I'll tell you what happened. And there will probably be a whole slew of disagreeing posts to follow...

When you added the blower, you sealed your fate. Do a post search of every engine that has gone puke. The common denominator is the added induction system.

Just sayin'

Was going to ask about engine mods the truck had. Thought that looked like an intercooler lurking behind that grill in the TOTM photo.
Yea, your screwed. Yank it before more damage is done.

Yes it's supercharged but it's been built for it. Motor is totaly forged. I had a list of mods at one point but was to long so it was taken down.....as my signature says...lol
I can post again if anyone is interested...ha ha ha

The oiling system is one of the biggest down fall on these motors and Dodge knew about it too and did nothing. There have been 100's Viper cars & trucks that has lost the number 4 or 5 rod bearing.

Well not exactly nothing, they did keep building & selling them

This does not help your problem, but just an observation. A generalization, if you will.

Built motor, "totally forged", supercharged, etc. I'd be on the doorstep of whomever built that motor. You should be driving right now, not dealing with this. The builder left a weak link in there somewhere.

There are guys on this forum with close to or over 100,000 on their trucks and they race them and beat the living balls off them. And they are still going.

The motor was built back in 06 with no issues until now.

Unless you have a museum piece. Rebuilt to factory specs and never started or driven again. Letting a vehicle sit is bad for it.

Not by choice.....believe me. I live in upstate new york, we have snow 7 months out of the year and rain the rest...lol

That is my point. It may have been built 9 years ago, but it didn't last very long measured by use/miles.

If I were doing this, I'd put it back to naturally aspirated, and drive it and have fun.
