As some know I've recently posted that I purchased an 04 Srt 10 this weekend. I just had a couple questions on the mods and how you all think the truck is set up. Mods are
Headers(?brand), and what looks to be 2 40 series mufflers
Volant cai
Roe throttle body
B&m shifter
Caltracs

Along with these mods I also have the generic nitrous switch(the one that comes in the kits) below my steering wheel and a hole and gromet in my cai that looks like a nitrous nozzle was there. The truck runs smooth doesn't smoke and drives good so I'm not to worried they hurt the motor but I did want to know if there's any way I could tell if the truck had a tune on it for nitrous that may have been left on it. Thanks

Can you post up a pic of the headers? We will be able to give you a better idea of what brand they are. All in all it sounds like a good bolt on set up. I don't know of a way to tell if there is a nitrous tune in it, maybe someone with nitrous experience on these trucks can chime in with some extra info.

Many tune for Nitrous via wideband to ensure a richer A/F in the upper RPM range. About 3-4 degrees of timing is usually removed while spraying. Only if you have the SCT tuner can you tell what tune is in it. If it is a B&G, or DC Performance PCM it should be labeled "for off road use only" or have some label saying it was tuned by whomever. Call them with the serial # of the PCM and likely they can tell you the last tunes installed into the PCM.:D

Thanks and I'll get a pic of the headers when I get home. I didn't get a sct with the truck and that's why I was curious. If it is a stock PCM could I hook up my diagnostic reader and read the a/f and the timing and see what it's at? Does anyone know what it's supposed to be stock?

Also, complete your profile so we know where you are from. Someone here may recognize the truck, but it helps to know where it is now. What color is it?

No your diagnostic reader won't provide you the needed info since it reads the narrow band O2 sensors and trying to maintain 14.7:1 a/f ratio. During WOT the PCM ignores the O2s.

Yeah for right now I have it taped up but am looking into a more permanent and cleaner looking solution.

The local parts store should sell plastic hole fillers, in the help section. That's what I would use.

Got the hole in the cai plugged ( thanks caveman ) and looked at the headers closer. They are American racing headers. I did have another question about my truck. If I have 3 1/2" tire to fender gap in front and 4 1/2" in the rear has my truck been lowered? Tires are 305/45/22 nitto nt420. Thanks again for all the help.
