i need a few body parts.
in new york you have the right to not get your car fixed.
so i took the 4500, cash. and i am going to do this myself.

i need to pull the fender,
replace the bumper end,
decide how to fix the hood, am thinking of getting one from stinker.
replace the tail lights, are there any of the led's that are bright?

two new tires.
and think about the rim.... it looks like a case of bad curb rash covering about 1/8 of the rim. not noticeable till your right on it, so i might just leave it.

today will be the tires. two hankooks, unless it starts to rain.
strip off the bumper cover on that side.

any ideas where to get the bumper cover end?
anyone parting out a red 10? that would save me some painting...

What happened to "Captain Fun Bucks" we all know and love? He would not be spending time working on fixing his own truck back to stock with used parts but rather what wild paint and body mods he could now do since it needs to be fixed anyways...

i am also captin jew bucks. you must have missed that one. however i am getting the new hood from stinker. once the back is done.

ok day 1.
start.

came out pretty good. i need to get the supply's to start the body filler work, hope to get some of that done after the doctors tomorrow.

put the tailgate back on and got tires. drives fine. and i am glad, because i was worried the frame was bent. it is not.

got a bit more bending to do, but the light almost fits right now.

cheaper and easier to simply reskin bed sides. Your local dealer I'm certain has one in stock.

your the smart one, was wondering how long it would take for someone to commend on that. thats the only reason i put it there was a gag.

how hard is it to change the bedside?

Would you clean that truck for a scooby snack? I'll give you a whole box if you at least dont post pics of that bed again.. :puke:

Good luck on the repair. Make sure wheel cleaner is included. ;)

Nice touch with the cats on the ground too.

bedside is easy. along the top rail on the inside you can see tiny divots all along it. those are spot welds. drill the spot welds out of there all around the entire side then pull it off, put the new one on and epoxy it in place if you cant get a welder. they now use a epoxy in bodyshops instead of welding because it wont warp the metal. honestly, its the better route to change the bedside.

i agree

wtf happen to the inside of ur bed ???? holy shit man just get a new bed for the truck ;) :D :D :D

Yepper, replace the bedside to not have any body filler. The bedside is fairly easy and there is a special bit used for the spot welds so it takes only drills thru outer layer ( part being removed) and not so much the under layer. You then reattach with 3m panel bond that is what is used to replace door skins and bedsides. You cannot beat this stuff. Use vise grips or locking pliers of some sort to hold the bedside in place as the panel bond dries ( couple hours) then use putty to trim out the areas that need touch up. NO need for Body filler. As stated earlier most Chrysler parts depts. will stock this as they are always being replaced. Some may even have a slightly damaged one ( dings or small dents from shipping such a large part and you can easily repair those for the savings in price.
Also check around wrecking yards as alot of people take the beds off to put wreckers, utility bodies, and heavy duty hauler beds on these trucks and sell their new bed to the wrecker.

do i need to drill holes for those metal clips that hold the plastic panels on? or are they on a hemi too?
any idea on what the price should be?

if there are welds on the top, are they on the front as well? how about the bottom?

Don't remember but simple enough to do. Much cheaper and better than what you are trying to do. No way I'd spend the time working sheet metal then filler versus reskinning. Welds are all over and easy enough to see. I found it MUCH easier to pull the whole bed to reskin. Two of us did the whole thing before 2pm beer and swim call.
