Cmon .. im Looking for technical stuff here....is it 4:10or 4:56?

Howya like the RC steve? fun?;) :D

Viper truck is right, up to around 7-800hp 4.56 will ge great, anything 1000hp and above would be better off with 4.10's more than likly

but depends on what ya do with it to. i think 4.56 will be fine

I have 4.10's in the silver truck and might have to go to 3.73.

Ok it looks like i am staying in the 4:56 club...:( .. Unless of course someone else can convince me otherwise... Was waiting some of the other SC'd people to chime in.... Roy?

Roy is at the video store at the end of his road!LOLOL the XXX store:D

hey Steve Pm Jack and ask him for the calculator link he has, he has one where you can key in different hp levels an gear ratios, that may help ya

it really isn't up for that much debate....kinda is what it is....:dontknow:

Well if its good enough for your truck then its good enough for mine. i am certainly not going to have any more than that. I will stay with the 4: 56. I just thought with more low end from the Roe unit I would be able to up to next gear. Maybe this would facilitate hooking up. This seems to be a big problem with all those 14 sec trucks out there ( no pun intended!). Maybe this problem is worth studying.Maybe we can do a computer analysis or something..

Steve

I my truely honest opinion:D with the superchargers with the strong bottem end they have off the lower RPM scale I think 4.10 is the way to go, you get less spin:dontknow:
BUT
Nowwhat and silverback both will tell you the 4.56 is a better choice,

to be honest I dont know, and untill we get a few runs on differnt vehicles I dont think no one will:D

but Nowwhat has allready proven the 4.56 si capable of 10's and with the taller hoosier 33' vs the 32 MH tire he will probably drop another 2-3 tenths:D

Steve I will tell ya this.

Nowwhat, Fstjack, Ram from hell ordered 4.56 ratio

turbofreak got 4.10 axle ratio

Scrambler 1 and Boomer jsut ordered 4.88 ratio if this helps

you want to cross the 1320' line as close as possible to your rev limit....that is why 4.56s work for many of our applications....14 sec S/C trucks are the victims of operator error not wrong gears......:D

absolutly correct my friend:rock:

I cant count how many pm's traveled accross the airways before we actually figured with the 4.56 ratio and a 33' tall slick that may grow jsut a tad would put you right in the ball park.

Jack, you have talked to the tranny manufacturer, did you happen to discuss other tranny gears(ratios/ sets) or are there any available from someone you know of????? Thanks

Jerry what trans are your referring to the TH400, T56 ir ?

T-56 Jack, thought it might be fun to change to a higher ratio in first for towing and launching, would make for an all around fun stocker:D

If you are gonna be racing on the strip and your hell bent on putting down good numbers, 4:56's are what you want.

If you're just gonna play with her here and there I think you will really like the 4:88's!!

JMHO!!:p :D

Get out your calculator. Figure out your desired speed through the traps and calculate the gear ratio that will leave you about 150 RPM short of your rev limiter in the gear you want to be in. (for a street driven 6-speed, it should be fourth).
