Just checking to see if anyone is attending the "Gathering Of Mustangs & Legends Air Show" this weekend in Columbus.

More info:

It's supposed to be incredible.

Toss a PM if you're headed out that way.

i believe it was on the history channel, top 10 fighter planes, and the p-51 mustang was rated #1. this was based on each planes performance in its respective era...

There's a whole charter plane group from here on the way, put together by a local radio host and avid plane enthusiast. Would be cool, but I couldn't make it.

At Oshkosh this year there where 3 wrecked and 2 killed. the other accident was over the lake where him and 2 other mustangs where doing rolls the 3rd mustang was going too slow and stalled, spinning into the lake :( :( :( :( :(

UNBELIEVABLE air show!!!

Highlights:

- F-22 Raptor. Holy crap! I've NEVER EVER seen anything fly like this thing can.
It is....unreal.

- USAF Thunderbirds. They were....pretty damn good!
I guess I'm kinda jaded after watching so much Blue Angels stuff. :)

- Talking with the pilots/owners of the P-51's. Great folks with some hella nice rides.

- Being able to walk up and touch the "Memphis Belle"!
Such a cool piece of history.

- Tuskegee Airmen Tribute. Standing ovation- from over 200,000 people!

- B-2 fly-by. The thing is....AWESOME!
It reminds me a lot of my truck: big, black, and powerful. :D

Kudos to the event organizers. VERY well done, well laid-out, easy entry, parking, and exiting.

Oh- and oddly enough, I met another SRT-10 owner as we were parking. He was in the H3 next to me and said, "Hey- I have a red one of those!". Nice guy. Hopefully he comes to visit us here.

I took HUNDREDS of pictures and a bunch of video.
I'll get 'em uploaded tonight.

Here's a couple shots of a legacy flight of an F-15, F-22 and P-51, and the first Langley F-22 to arrive at Langley.
