okay here is the first of many questions i'm sure.

haven't received the blower yet but have been looking around. I've noticed on two occasion that with a novi 2000 that some people have modified the valve covers. does the plumbing on the blower touch the valve cover?

thanks

I think ram from hell has a set of valve covers for a paxton so I am guessing yes, but they shall chime in.

ram from hell had the x-metal tall valve covers that hit the blower, i dont think the oem ones will have a prob

What he said. If your running stock heads there is no need to shave down the valve covers.

cool, thanks fellas.

litemup, I see you had the crank keyed and the ATI balancer. I have been to the ATI website, there isn't a stock application that I could find for a gen III viper motor, which one did you use? and did you key your own crank? if so how and what parts?

Not sure on the part number for the ATI balancer, but could try to find out for you. You might try call the manufacturer and they could probably tell you quicker than I can.

As far as keying the crank I didn't do it myself. All I could tell you that they had to remove the a/c coils and radiator to get to the crank. Alot of guys here have pinned the crank with no issues, but if the pin ever shears you going to need to replace the crank $$$. So I opted to do it when they installed the Paxton extra insurance policy.

who did yuo have do the install? was it one of the board vendors?

Doug Levin installed the blower. He is located in South Florida

hmm. makes me wonder if the fella's here that have had crank pins sheer were all of the 2004 model year, which also had the crankshaft bolt issue. maybe I need to start a new post with that in mind.

Not sure how many on here sheered the pin, but when my blower was being installed there were 3 Vipers with TMTS blower with their pins sheered off. I felt it was a good insurance policy at the time. Spend a few hundered now are a few thousand later.

ati makes one for the oem , but you need one for the supercharged application;)

Someone spoke my name? Heh, heh, heh.:D

This was only a problem because I have Stryker heads, which require taller valve covers. I started with spacers, and did clearance one for the compressor. It helped to clock the compressor about 5*, but not enough. I ended up with the X-Vendor valve covers, but sent them back to Fairy for further modifications, then sent them back again because someone gouged the face of the covers when removing the breather fittings (and sent them to me like that).

Still, I had to push the valve cover back as far as it would go before tightening the valve cover bolts. At best, I could slip an RCH (ask an engineer) between the compressor and valve cover.

...and you wonder why this ass is an ex-vendor.;)
