Paxton / Twin Screw ??

Yeah that's my problem being so far away i would never have a chance to drive any or even get a look at before it would arrive at my doorstep. It's hard enough to find other people who even own/drive their trucks up here.

Hey Deibs, I live in Calgary (not that far from Red Deer) and I DRIVE my truck.

There has been talk about needing to upgrade the automatics. When I spoke with Roe, they said their twin-screw was designed for a stock engine and a stock drive train and they saw no need to upgrade the tranny. 5.5 pounds of boost shouldn't be very abusive. I mean it IS a performance vehicle.
Think about the Lightnings running 9 pounds (factory). They survived, unless the boost went up; so maybe Roe also built in a safety margain for our trucks.
IF running slicks, etc; it may become an issue. But if driving with stock rubber, I really don't see a requirement to upgrade the tranny either...

Anybody??

Not enough for me to be under there and measure when the hood is down!

Sorry, in a smart ass mood. Just took a look...have to look in the scoop...looks to be more than I thought...maybe four inches!

4 inches would be enough to fit an intercooler between the S/C and the manifold. Might be something to think about.

You drive it today? :) The last couple days you'd need a Subaru out there, then again i guess it depends on how good fast the maintenance crews get out,, Red Deer they are slow.

yeah that's why i was interested in the Roe.. seemed easy enough to install and i wouldn't have to upgrade much else. Just availability of product is what i wonder, with it being so new.

Yes, I drove it today but it is going into hibernation for now.
These trucks are really "well-rounded" as they come. A FAST trip to Vancouver this year made me appreciate it even more. 240 UPHILL to pass an M5...what a hoot!! 17.5 m.p.g. (2 tanks) with the a/c on during the +30 weather. A supercharger will change it more than just a little but the Roe unit looks great. I am not concerned about the auto but I am concerned about the traction; that is something you can't ignore. And you can't win many races if the tires aren't putting the twin-screw power to the ground. That in itself may be a good argument for a Paxton. 400 ft. lbs. to the wheels just above idle with the Roe is brutal. But I'm going with the twin-screw anyway.http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/images/smilies/stupid.gif

There is no heat soak issue with the Roe. I know this for a fact as I've hot lapped the car 3x back to back to back and improved times each time.

Mike I too have run three times in succession but in much colder temps, and the times were about the same...so my experience supports your statement about no heat soak. Now my runs were in temps in the 50's...
