PCM problem?

Check the ASD relay connection first! Verify there is no corrosion on or in the terminals. Power distribution centers have been known to be faulty also, not extremely common but I have seen it before.

Have you read this thread?

I didn't go all the way through, but maybe something is there for you.:)

Most of it is like Japanese to me but from what I gathered on a 05 the ASD relay is built into the fuse box and the PCM isn't getting the correct voltage from it. I'm assuming my 04 is the same. What's my next step take it to someone who knows what they're doing or break out the sawzall? :chain:

Where exactly is the ASD connector? I've never messed with any of this before

I would check the ASD Relay connections as others have said. Check for loose grounds and also check the main wiring harness; where is comes close to the passenger side exhaust. I nearly melted through mine a couple of years ago.

Pulled the relay and gave it a shake and sounds like something is lose in there, may have hope

Looks like it has been changed once already, any no part number on the relay, anyone know the part number?

I'm guessing it's been changed because someone else was trying to cure the same problem that you are having. Have you chased all the wiring?

New ASD relay put in and started right up! The 87a prong had slack in it and that's all it took.

Then, It will be in good hands!! Check for a loose cam gear!! please!! magnet through the cam sensor hole and see if it has any play at all let us know thanx
