The 6mm lens in the video is cute.
For about 10 seconds.
Then I begin asking, "Where's Jules Jordan and the hotties?"

Next, where the hell is "1800 miles from Chicago"? Unless you're doing laps somewhere, that would put you in either the Atlantic or the Pacific.

Yeah. With all the coin you save, you can get an oil filler cap! LOL
If you thought gear for our trucks was pricey, just wait.... :)

My vote: Drive it like you stole it.

Chicago to Phoenix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:burnout: :burnout:

You would probably have a panic attack driving all those miles at one time:p :D
I almost achieve a full on panic attack just opening the garage door :p :p :p :D

Drive it. Cars & Trucks were meant to be driven. Have fun on your road trip.:elefant: :elefant: :elefant:

Thanks!:D

I am going to fly up with a friend for $200, one night in a hotel $100, about $400 for gas and another $100 for food and stuff. Or $2200 to ship it! I keep going back and forth. Maybe I will drive it half way and ship it the rest! Just worried about bad weather and road debris:dontknow:
And I will be going for a TT system in a few years. This is a dream I had since the car came out!

Half of my drive (which was South Carolina to Houston, TX) was in the rain - no problems at all! Your car already has 43K miles on it, so it is never gonna be a top dollar earner at the Barrett-Jackson Auction, so drive it back, take your time, and enjoy the country and the car. I had a blast doing it even though I drove thru a lot of bad weather and was by myself. My car had 17k miles on it when I bought it, so mine was high miles as well..... LOL! :D

Mine is gonna get some 3.55 or 3.73 gears next, I'd rather accelerate fast versus going 190 mph.... ;)
No TT in my future - gotta wait until about 100 mph until you hook up!!!

No fair....going diagonally. :)

That'd be an awesome drive: flatlands, rolling hills, 14,000' mountain passes, high desert.
Would you go through Monument Valley? Awesome photo op if you do.

I'm with Eric:
See the country........IN A VIPER!!!
:D

Ship....I picked up my truck in Dallas and drove it the 1,000 miles home....while I enjoyed the trip I also picked up a few stone chips...probably kicked up by trucks on the interstate....If I had it to do over...shipped by covered transport..my 8.3cents..

I'd drive that baby. If you worry about every little road hazard that may cause a little paint chip here or a requirement for a buffing there you will go mad. I would spend this trip driving it and getting to know it. Just my $0.02..:dontknow:

I want to drive it, but it is alot of time in that ride. I was worried about rock chips and such, but I can get one of those driving around town. My only concern is that the car has never seen rain or snow (so I'm told). Car looks clean and Dave ("Stingray" on this forum) checked it out twice and said she is in good condition. Well I should be sealing the deal by end of the week! I am still debating the trip:rock:

Why drive it all that way? Let it come to your house like a present... :)

There will be plenty of time to drive it when you get it.

Glad you finally are getting your dream car. I remember you talking about it many times.

Good luck with it.

Well it looks like the car will be shipped to me. Spoke with Gary Almond, he had to head out this way from VA. It is only $700 more to have it shipped than it would be to go and get it myself. I figured might as well keep her safe. It won't be here till the 11th or 12th of October...there is no way I will be able to sleep. I can't believe it. :elefant: :elefant: :elefant: :elefant: :elefant: :elefant: :elefant:

I've only heard good/great things about Gary. I tried to get him to ship my SRT Ram but his trailer wasnt big enough.

Good move on shipping it, Gary is a class act, if and when I can find the 06 Coupe I'm looking for and if it is further than 500 miles, I will be giving Mr Almond a call. I shipped my GTS from CA to CO which is about 1300 miles. I drove the SRT-10 From Woodhouse in Blair, NE (500 miles) and it was a great road trip, it was good way to break in a new truck. after the first 150 miles, I was beating on it like a rented mule.

Good move!

You'd be pissed if you picked up a major stone chip or busted windshield driving it home. This way, it'll get to you the same way it leaves the previous owner.

Now you've got 2 weeks of waiting. Like a kid waiting for Christmas. While it sucks for you now, you know it'll be worth it!:D
