Here are a couple of pics of the HEMI Barracuda, Lee Saunders 98 GTS Twin turbo automatic Viper, and a twin procharged big block mustang. The Barracuda couldn't get his to hook in the only round of qualifying, the Viper missed a checkpoint on the drive to the track which disqualified him from competition but ran 8.14 @ 172 mph on 93 octane which was byfar the quickest car there, and the Mustang redlit.

The 67 chevelle was low qualifier with a 9.15, the black 68 Charger was the runner up, view the Vipers competition usually sees, 63 Polara and a '57 chevy. You can go to 1320video.com and see 2100 pics of the drags, I ordered a dvd of last years' drags. Tons of pics available there.

wow....what are the rules....93 only...?....what about methanol?.....

who built the viper.....?

Lee's Viper looks familiar. . . Did he buy it from someone or did he build it?

I live in Memphis, and I don't think I'll ever forgive my buddy who decided to get married last Saturday. Great pics, though!

The viper was built by a Chrysler Engineer and had a very large hemi in it for a while until the Saunders purchased it and put a Heffner built TT viper engine back in. I was told by Lees dad that it is NOT tubbed, but it is a solid axle/automatic.

The basic rules are: 93 octane, 3300#'s minimum, no methanol, but straight water injection is allowed, 11 1/4" or smaller DOT slicks or unlimited radials. Bring at least a mid 9 second car to have a chance, these rides are BAD! They will have to move it pretty far away for me to not show up, it was very cool.

I have some semi-decent quality videos here that I took with my 4 year old digital camera:

Justin I looked for you Saturday but I had gotten a piece of metal in my eye last week and I was squinting like a chinese welder without a helmet. The sun was killing my eyes so I just kinda meandered around and we sat on the spectator side with the sun to our back. But I still had a good time!!
