Yesterday my exhaust pipes decided to break underneath the truck right after the two cats and h-pipe. Needless to say I simply cut them off and left the pipes running under the cab. Do i need to at least put turn downs on the pipes? I am refusing to rerun the pipes out the back like normal. I did notice a difference in engine temp today during usual driving conditions and very big difference in sound. What do you guys think? My idea was to cut the two tips off my old exhaust and put an angled pipe at a 45degree angle with the tips attached to it?

i know someone on here has an opinion...

as long as the tips are past the cab

I ran open pipes on my qc for about 3 weeks. they ended just under the front seats. Didnt have a problem except for the noise. hope this helps

but really............50k truck? fix it;)

I liked it for a very short time when I had only straight pipes...then it got really obnoxious...and I worried every time a LEO pulled up beside or behind me!

i have been running straight pipes for awhile now and love it better than any other exhaust i have had. Just going to put my old tips angled down in the morning. The super 44's were nice, hated the magnaflows, and finally borla was a joke in my opinion, so we shall see how it goes....thanks all will post some clips up the weekend

I was thinking of trying some chrome stacks with Cherry Bombs. I got a squirrel tail for the antenna too.

Turndowns do wonders to deepen and take some of the raspyness out of straight exhaust. I have them on my cutouts after my x-pipe with catless mids.

The turndowns bounce the sound off the ground and it echos under the truck. It reverberates, and oddly enough takes some of the resonance out.
The rear view mirrors shake, the steering wheel tingles your hands like your using a chainsaw. And at 5500 rpm you can really feel it on your chest.

amtrucker22, mysrt10, and FlyingLow really liked the sound. Its different than any other 10, louder, more aggressive, and commands more respect than most of the others.

I have one turned 45 degrees outward in each direction under the truck, so no matter which side of the road, whoever im passing will be startled to the point of jerking of the road into the median. Everyone who didnt already realize i arrived, will be made aware by every alarm set to sensitive in the parking lot. Driving under bridges test the abilities of my rear view mirror glue. Windows down the infinity audio system must be on 28, or you cant understand what they are singing about.
