I was getting pumped up about the Southeast gtg next week, and decided i would go test and tune Fri night. Then i remembered something. After getting frustrated at the lousy track conditions i did a big burnout. Track official chewed me out for doing my burnout past the tree. I know it wasnt necessary but its fun and looks cool. Hell burning both rears through the 60 and letting off at the 330 at 60 mph had the whole crowd pumped up. He said i would pull up his rubber, I had another guy tell me not to even do a burnout on my pirelli's that they dont get softer and stickier with a burnout!?
Is there any truth to this. Should i just roll my tires over to get the dust off. I noticed the bigger burnouts i did this higher i could tack on my launch without bogging or spinning.
Im just confused

dont think it helps with street tires, turn them over to clean em off and youll be fine.

Thats right! Burn em off, just cause you can!!:burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

I did a poll a while back on what people thought and it was about even... I could search for it...

from my experience spin em a little to get the debris off... burning em does little if anything at all to help...

p.s. avoid the waterbox too... that'll piss em off as well :p water gets in the treads and you're just sprayin water everywhere ... I've seen guys do it :dontknow:

You would be surprised how much the street tire classes "polish" the track. It really will make the starting line bad for the drag slick classes. BUT anytime you can do a smokey burnout past the tree it does look awesome!

Ive got a group of 8 headed to the track with me Friday night. I will do the test and get the facts on what rpm i can launch at and not break loose with heat in the tires or cold. Ill alternate races burnout or none with 20 min between. Should get 10 runs or more. Also Ive got 2 guys filming. So i should be able to put together some Cinematic vids. Makes this slow truck look faster.

Ill sacrifice my pirellis for Srt10 Research!

Sacrifices,I like that! Hey Jeff did you ever post a sound clip with those bad boy Flowmaster Outlaws rumbling away?? :burnout:

nah i havent. I know im a dirtbag. But if i film this race friday you can hear it there, and ill be at the gtg. Completely vulnerable to the flowmaster bashing!

My catless mids plan fell through... Shop charged to much for there customs. May get justins. Pipes will still be quieter than i want for the big event

I alternated a burnout and no burnout over the course of 9 races. Consistently i was able to launch 400-700 rpms higher with a burnout without crazy tire spin. 60 ft improved by an average of .18 seconds faster and et by .22.

Probably the least scientific test but i did better and thats good enough for me. And BTW after trips down the 8th....im in need of 2 pirelli scorpions zeros. :dontknow:

Thats some good info there Jeff:rock: :burnout:  :burnout:

All these tires need is a quick spin, as soon as they smoke your good...
