I have a 2004 SRT-10 and love my truck, but on April 4, A deer ran out in front of me and caused me to wreck and damage my truck. It is still at the body shop today. I am unable to get some of the parts to fix it. Mainly the right steering knuckle. I have e-mailed and called Dodge many times and they still cannot even tell when they might have my parts available. I have been really patient until now. The Dodge Customer Service Dept. just keeps telling they have no new info. Does anyone here know if it is possible to force Dodge to buy back my truck since they will not supply replacement parts for it. I am concidering seeing an lawyer. I don't want a vehicle I can't buy parts for. I have missed the entire summer and race season. Has anyone got any suggestions what my next step should be.

Thanks

Wade

Man, that really stinks!

We have a few members who can probably answer your questions.

Good luck! If they buy it back, will you get another, newer one?

that's very strange behavior from DODGE. Don't know for cars but my company (atlas copco compressors) is obliged to have parts 10 years AFTER final production !:dontknow:
It seems they have forgotten to put it on the spares parts list and the paperwork to get it released (item No, price, yearly Q, etc) is causing the delay. Just my thought.

If they do buy it back I am not sure what I will buy. I hate to buy another truck and still not be able to get parts for it, but I really do love this truck.

there is a place on ebay...lkq parts.they have srt parts on all the time.the parts they have are from wrecked srt-10`s.email them and ask if the have a wreck with the part you need.ya never know, they might have what ya need.

That's strange.... I thought they were required to keep parts through 7 YEARS after production? :dontknow:

Even so, I would think that the "steering knuckle" would be a part that interchanges with the "normal" Dodge trucks. :dontknow: :(

Personally, I don't think your parts dept is trying very hard. When I had my little issue, and ripped off the front end of the truck. All the pieces and parts were back on the truck in 10 days. That included the entire right side suspension and a 100% replacement of the steering components on the front of the truck.

Hope they are using vaseline, cuz you are getting f'd on this one.Make more calls to someone higher up,maybe the mediation number for resolving problems. Also might try sending "The Mopar Connection" a PM.Maybe he can help.

The steering knuckle will only fit our trucks. It is called performance steer. The other Dodge trucks are different. It sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the part number. Dodge told me 2 weeks 4 different times. Now they won't even tell me that. I think I have been patient enough. I will ask for a mediator to see if this can be resolved. I hope no one else needs OEM parts. I heard it is due to the Sale that Chrysler is going through right now. The parts are available but the vendor won't ship them until they are paid.

Here is TN Lemon Law...... http://www.autolemonlaws.com/tennessee/lemonlaw.htm

I don't see where your situation would be applicable...sorry. Regardless, consult an Attorney who handles Lemon Law for TN. I own/owned several Aprilia's (Motorcycles) and when Aprilia was having financial problems then ultimately purchased by Piaggio many of us were left stuck waiting for parts for what seemed like forever.......some were a good year. Bad enough the Italians go on Holiday for all of August but throw in financial/buyouts and the consumer gets stuck in the middle. Good luck!

we have an atlas copco compressor @ our business -- good unit.....

i dont know who told you 2 weeks. but there are none coming in anytime soon. there are a total of 5 on order. and 3 are on the highest order status. i honestly dont think its going to be anytime soon. I'm sorry to say. that knuckle was only in production for 04 and 05 srt-10's. i would try and locate a used one. and dodge shouldnt have any responsibility to purchase your truck back due to lack of parts on a non-warranty repair. sorry to give you the bad news man

Hi Mopar Connection, why do you think it's so difficult to get this particular part? What does it look like? Can it be fabbed by an independent shop? Is it cast or machined? Sorry to ask so many questions, just can't believe this guy has to wait for a new part so long, or go to the used market.:dontknow:
