Place to test top speed?

Doesn't Sean Roe's place have a nice place to open the trucks up at? That's definately east of the Mississippi!

It's only about 6/10 mile long. We saw about 115 before we had to shut down (it goes to gravel at the end of the track).

I hear the street in front of Brat's house has the room too, however, I have no first hand experience.

Roe Racing is on an old air strip. But it is not a place to test top speed. Strong bursts for a quarter mile or so are fine...but more than that and you run out of space.

Just for the record. At speeds of 120, 140 and up any small failure or problem will result in death.

Be very careful if those kind of speeds are your passion...and do not kill someone else in your lust for thrills.

Those kind of speeds just scare me.

If anyone is going to try this be sure your tires are in good shape and up to full pressure. I've had my SRT to 140 ,Lightning to 153, and my 454ss to 130.

yeah i have only once had my truck to 155 but it was wide open road no one around and could see front or back for miles the one good thing to tx.. scared the hell out of me but it still had room to go so.. only time i have done that wanted to see where she would stop.. still dont know..

I pinned my speedo twice,heading south on 95 from orlando!!:rock:
Of course,no other vehicles near me...The closing rate at that speed is a real rush!!! The truck felt really stable at speed too...Then there was the time I tried the cruise at 150(not for the faint of heart)..
I do not encourage speeding,but for some its ,well you know!!!!!!!!!!
For the record,All maint. and checkovers are performed regularly...

Well my speedo only goes to 130 but i've gone past that and bounced it off the little pin. :dontknow: According to the "top speed" formula with my HP and gearing i should be able to do 180+ mph... i seriously doubt it though.

we used to go to a local municipal airport after it closed for the night. we'd buy aviation fuel from the runway pump for the FI cars, and then race on the runway. i think its only 1.3 miles long though. another option out here is to hit one of the highways late night - they're all flat and straight in KS.
