The performance options are huge...I can't do the math, but someone out there can...

Here are the options:

Three transmission settings (not counting the paddle shifters)

Three traction settings

Two suspension settings

I think that means...3 cubed, the total squared... is that 729 settings?

Any way, it was obvious by the posts from CTS V racers that one set of settings was the preferred for quarter mile performance...I tried it...

A little left foot brake pressure...slight throttle pressure to about 1100 rpm and roll on the throttle ("roll" being very important).

Two very black streaks about 20 ft long...two black streaks about 5 ft long as it hit second, and 2ft chirps as it hit third...

No one could shift as fast as the sport auto setting does...so the shifter and the paddles are really a waste...

Damn, scared the shit out of me...not much noise just a lot of go...a pulley, headers, and a tune is getting mid 11's for the people who are modifying the LSA engine.

But with a 100k warranty on the power train I think it has plenty for this old fart...this is not your grandfathers Cadillac!

Wow!

That sounds awesome Roy!! All that power, and comfy leather seats!? What more could you want?

:burnout: :thrasher:

so...out of 729 settings (assuming your math is correct)...which one are you on?;)

He's still at number 2. ;) :D

Sounds like a nice car Roy. But how does it stack up to the Volvo?:dontknow:

The setting that is recommended by the quarter mile people on the CTS V site is Competition mode in Traction (#2 of 3); Sport Mode for Transmission (#2 of 3) and Sport mode for Suspension (#2 of 2).

This is a totally stock machine. It turns in the low 12's (I have read)...and is about a half second slower than my truck, a full second faster than the Volvo, and way faster than either my snow blower or the lawn tractor!

I have not raced the Lincoln or the Prius.

Yes Jack...I am a grandfather (actually referred to as grandpaw) six times...I think I have rabbits for children.

Going to the track later this month, so I will try to get some real times for the "old fart carrier"...

Prof, your helping our image!............ For me,...... driving a Caddoo is a requirement. :p :D

Go and test drive one.

Push the traction control on the steering wheel once, move the shifter to the right (but not up or down) and push the suspension control (on the console) once...stomp on it and hold on...no need to shift...it will hit second so fast and then third...rubber will be flying everywhere...then do a hard right or left at speed...and you will buy it before you leave the show room.

Nicest vehicle I have ever had...best handling, nearly the quickest, and so wonderfully comfortable.

i like it, but what do you drive in the snow? a bronco?

Insightful question...it is my daily driver...the rubber that comes with it is good for extended 175 mph sprints...but not good at all in snow (so I have been reading). I am shopping for four snow tires, and some new 20 inch wheels. I will put snow tires on the current 19 inch oem rims, and have the new 20 inch wheels and lower profile tires in the spring.

Looks like the four snow tires will be Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero
(Performance Snow)

Front: 255/40R19
Rear: 285/35R19
Speed Rating “V” = 149mph (240kph)
Price: $382.00 (each)

Looking for 20 inch wheels now...

I can't even remember 54 Joe.

But I imagine I had a 14 inch penis, and 54 inch chest...

But I don't recall exactly.

those brakes must be tiny to fit in 19"wheels, the new 4-door Porsche has 20" rims just to clear the brakes.
do they make an upgrade kit?

in fact the Porsche outran the cts-v on the Nürburgring. the first 4 door to surpass it.
