DO NOT USE A DREMEL...U nuts
If anything take them off and tape off around the letters. U might want to go to an autobody and paint store to get their fine painters tape. Then fill in around the rest of the valve cover with regular masking tape.
Start with maybe 1000 grit paper n water. Dont use your fingers use a sponge as a backing pad.
Then use a 1500 grit paper n water.
Then 2000.
Buffing wheel-small one not the 6 or 7 inch varialbe speed polisher. I think harbor freight has the small 3" pnuematic air gun. Uses a 3" compund wheel, 3" buffing wheel and has a 3" faom wheel. We use thi for detailing the hard spots.

Buff with rubbing compound, then swirl remover then polish.
Should come out glassy.
Only problem will be keeping it that way. I have yet to see anybody clear coat aluminum and have it keep. Powdercoating is MUCH better.
