Anyone try cleaning up the Heads/Intake/TB. maybe light head port and polish. If your just cleaning everything up should there really be anything to worry about.

Interested. If not I might be the guinea and post it. but some gen ideas might help. also. would it need a complete tune to see any difference?

just a word to the wise, if you have not done it before you can screw up things in a heartbeat and hurt more than help, but port matching the intake to the heads does help

could i screw it up just smoothing it all out? not reshaping anything in the heads just cleaning and smoothing.

the heads is the biggest thing, just smooth them up, dont try to eat into them too much, reshaping the port area can mess things up a bit, biggest help actually is port matchig to intake , and the squish area of the heads, know down all the small bumps, they are heat sinks, the tb, as you well know we do now, but be careful there are areas where you will punch thru the tb, then it has to be welded back up

but please do not try it with a dremel:D

I'd bolt on a ported throttle body and be done.
In my opinion, it's not worth any power just doing a bit of cleanup work because there is really nothing to clean up.
The factory heads' ports are blemish free to begin with and consistently shaped.

But if you want more power, BUY some well ported heads or aftermarket ones and a cam to match. There is a nice power improvement doing that.

A good tune from DC Performance or Torrie at Unleashed is a MUST for a QC.
THAT will net you more power than ANY cleanup work or port matching you might do...
