My buddy has a lightning with a smaller pulley (dont know the excact size)exaust, and tune. he said he raced a q/c and beat it. Do you think he will give me a run for my money or even beat me?
Got any tips?? I got continetal tires, volant cold air, and caltracs and i am thinking about a 1800rpm launch. what do ya think about the situation? If we do it this weekend i will get a vid and post up some results

Not shocking he took a QC with his mods. The lightning really wakes up with a smaller pully. Not knowing the exact psi he is running could not say either way.

the best way i run lightnings is from about a 30 mph roll. With my build i have traction problems.

all depends on how you drive,,, if u spin, he has got you....take it to the track at get the hole shot

also one time Stinker told me to go get some "TRACBITE" . put about 3 or 4 good coats on your tires and drop the tire pressure. Practice your launches alot. deleating your cats will make up for his pully. .

Lightings are a worthy competor, dont let none fool you

yeah just aboutb what everyone else has said is true a guy down the street had an L from me and it has a smaller pulley and i'v beat him.. you have got to make sure you nail third! don't miss it or you'll see the back end of that turd

Last year (when my truck had 423 r.w.h.p. with just a few mods), my buddy bought a Lightning. He did catback exhaust, pulley, programmer, c.a.i.

I'd beat him by 2 truck lengths with my QC then really start to pull away after the 1/4 mile mark.

Have fun.

1800 rpm may cause you to bog off the line. Finding the sweet spot for launches on the regular cabs is difficult at best.

all depends on the track prep or the street. I always found on the street that lower rpm is better and just roll into the gas ,,,but who knows

what you are saying lightings are not worth some respect? I have seen alot of lightings win and alot loose, but lightings are worthy competors

i had a lightning goober come up on me a few days ago at a red light in traffic ,he almost rear ended guy infront of him showing off ,,,in front of me so i started laughing at him and he shot me the finger

Well man your hoping worked for ya. Late last night in Calgary, we found a nice quite stretch of highway and decided to have some fun. It was pouring rain but I was 2 hours from home and wanted to have some fun and burn some rubber. So we both do a little burnout and line up. The Girlfriend screams go and I dump at 2000 and spin as he takes off. By the time i get traction im 2 lengths behind and i begin to catch him but we quit, turn around and get ready to go again. This time I try 1700rpm launch and get same results. Im sideways and he just rolls on. We go again. This time I take it easy off the line and he spins and I win by a couple trucks. Then on the way back to the house he wants to honk 3 times and giver from 30. I hear that damn E-T-N howl up and manage to stay ahead by a truck. It was close and lots of fun. So i save the best for last and we catch a light on the last possible stretch to his house. We roll up and look at each other. We are on a downhill slope and as I am holding the brake to keep myself from cheating i see the light turn green, I dump the clutch while trying to get off the brake but I dont do it quick enough, and then STALL!!!!. He knows right away what happened and he backs off for a good laugh with me. Hes coming down to my area in 2-3 weeks to do it again hopefully on a nice dry day and we will get some video and pics this time. great times though and thx for reading :)
