Powder Coated Intake Manifold and Valve Covers

Check the inside of your Valve Covers

Since they scratched up my intake manifold and valve covers last rebuild I decided to do something a little different this time and had them powder coated. They are just finishing up the machine work and can start re-assembly. I'm hoping I'm two to three weeks out on getting it back.

Big Asp,

They look really sweet! Take a close look at the inside of the passenger side valve cover. It is easy to damage the pcv fitting.

I had my intake manifold and throttle body powder coated Chrome Silver and the valve covers powder coated Blue to match my truck. Once it was reassembled, it started sucking oil at a rate of 7 quarts in 250 miles. I ended with my engine being rebuilt. My mechanic found the damage inside the passenger side valve cover after the rebuild. We ended up painting a new set of valve covers Blue with automotive paint to match my VCA Clone paint job. The valve covers have survived 8 months and 5000 miles of Florida heat with no issues. You will be amazed at how easy it is to keep the engine clean and looking good! Here are a few shots of my Blue and Silver parts.

Thanks y'all!

And, thanks for the heads up, JAX Ram. I'll keep my eye on it. BTW, your pictures are too small to really see what's going on. Any chance of reposting them at a larger size?

anyone have a price on what this process is worth yet?

My good friend owns a powder coating company and wouldn't take any money so I sent him a gift certificate to TGIF. It shouldn't be more than a couple of hundred bucks though at most powder coaters.

Hey Phil,

Truelly Awsome. Any word on when all the pieces and parts will be one again?
