Powder coating wheels...need your opinions

I have a silver 05 qc, have an appointment next week to get the wheels powdercoated....going with the satin black......my quandry is do i put on black lugs or leave silver......and what to do with the center cap....ive seen both, all black, and leaving it silver and both look sharp........just want to know what the zoo thinks!!!

Where are you getting the wheels powdercoated? And how much are they charging you?

going through a dealer recommended place down here in temecula, charging 100 per wheel for one color black satin..........and 50 to dismount, mount, and rebalance all 4 tires, after tax its 500 out the door

Not bad but how long is the turn around? RTW (check out Powder Coating Wheels thread by 06_Quad_SRT10) does a 1 day turn around. Their work is awesome as well. Hope this helps.

*cough* I think any such upgrades are awesome. I have a gun metal powdercoat idea I've been toying with in my mind. Trying to get something that would go with carbon fiber.. As for yours, I would not do the centercap if you're going to keep the lug nuts as they are. Besides, if you did the lug nuts too then they may get scratched if you have to take a tire iron or impact gun to it. Just my $0.02.:dontknow:

drop the truck off on wednesday, get back on friday.............its a $10 taxi ride from my house and i have a second car so turnaround isnt a big deal..........the black powdercoat on the silver truck is sick looking!!!!!!!!!!

I prefer leaving the cap and lugs polished to offset the look personally.... just my opinion!

thats exactly what im doing, they did a computer mock of how it looked with the caps and lugs the way they are versus all black.......with the silver paint it looks very sharp left the way they are

No doubt i had my OEM's powdercoated and just recently went back to a chrome wheel to change the look because I get bored but they looked great on my silver qc...good luck!! :rock:

I would go all black lugs and Cap
