OK, so four months ago I took a new position inside of my company. Thus far I hate it (I feel like I was not fully informed about the position). Really reinforces that "Grass is Greener" saying. But my prayer request is for a position I am waiting to hear back from. It is a career change going from software development to computer systems security. I think I am tired of being a software developer...sitting in a chair all day...hidden in a corner...conversing with only you guys (no offense, but it is not enough). Pray that the right thing will happen...soon...don;t know how much more I can take. Thanks for your help.

You got it.....too!

You gotta enjoy your job, at least somewhat in life. If you really hate your job you gotta move on..............we spend too much time at em.

Good luck car dude

patrick

Will do and I wish you the very best of luck in getting your new job. It's never fun when you're in a position that no longer challenges you and it's easy as hell to let complacency set in. For me at least. :dontknow:

Thanks everyone...I hated to ask you guys about this...cuz there are so many more important requests than mine...it just this job is killing me lately.

I think when you are working in an IT environment all your job is sitting at your desk. I'm a Unix sys admin, I get some relief when i have to go to the computer rooms to reset something.

I'm starting to hate this job, I will start with a new employer by september: this is the last change, if this sucks too I'd better thinking about a job without computers.

Any one needs an Italian guy for any job? (hey remember this is not offensive section hahah)

By the way good luck with your position, and some good luck for me too!

good luck.. hope you get it. i know what its like when you're not happy at work. it took me 7 years to figure it out and make the change

I read some statistics regarding the number of employees who are looking for a job (within my company...Lockheed Martin); it was like 67%. I was astounded, until I spoke with my wife (she's a Director in Human Resources for Western Union) and she told me that it was common to have that high a percentage of people looking for another job.

Wow...sad what this job market has become...:dontknow:

I'm seriously thinking about attending a truck drivers school! I will sit all the day too, but at least I will see something moving around!

Good luck CD.

I work long hours and the stress is a killer. But I love my job. It's a challange every damn day, including most weekends.

The pay is excellent, but that would not matter if I did not like the job. Life is to short to spend 8 (+) hours a day doing something you do not like doing.

Sometimes the Quality of life, is more important than the material things the job can provide.

Once again, best of luck to you.

Good luck and prayers to both of you!

I love my IT job!! But, I am not confined to my desk all day. (Although my boss tells me I need to get out of my office and "mingle" with the customers more. :dontknow:)

:D:D:D

Good luck to you as well!

I'm not allowed near the customers.

Car Dude....I wish you and Red the best in your work situations.

Walt

Good luck and I hope you get what you want.

I love my job... Being an economic development officer is amazing. Everyday is new and get to meet alot of different people.

I just can't stand working for Town Council. They will lie in a heartbeat, and stab you when you are looking. I have a board meeting next week and will have a letter of resignation in my binder if nothing can be worked out.

I have been off probation for 4 months and still haven't received benefits. :dontknow: They have broken every agreement in my contract when I was hired and then they have the nerve last week to ask me when I was moving here... (I live 40 miles away). Ummmm... NEVER!

Sorry Cardude, I guess I needed to vent too... :(
