Problem with the drop! HELP

And again I'll say that when I put the two (McG & XMetal) springs side by side, the Dia of Boomer's is bigger which makes me wonder if the QC is on a 2500 chassis !!:dontknow:

When I talked to Jay, he said it was. I dont know enough about this truck apparently.

Yeah they are smaller. My neighbor looked at them and said "look if the stock one was hallow out could put the new one inside of it.". Hey I had the look, and I don't regret it, it was a cheap leason for me. I don't need a drop that low. I still like jumping the truck over bumps and cruising over pot holes.

I will cut 1/4 to 1/2 of the spring and buy a 2" lowering shackle. Then maybe in a couple months I'll by Boomer 1/2 drop. And I think I'll upgrade to Eldelbrock shocks.

Thanks y'all for your help! Damn the truck looks to good. I'm going to cry when I take it off! I screwed with the caster/camber adjustments thinking it might even out the suspension. I got it close but it didn't help. I hit a small transision on Fry rd and I thought the rear end was going to rip out of the truck. Stock suspension 4x4 tommorrow afternoon!

Kris don't feel bad.......No kit would have worked for me. Boomers would have been better but i still would end up ripping the facia off.

I'm still trying to figure out why y'all had such a bad time with your kits...

The first nite I drove mine, I was driving back from a Car Show and I was doing probly 50 before I realized there was a speed bump coming up at me! I hit her a little fast and she didnt even get squirrely....she did bottom out though!;)

I seriously thought I would not like it but I do, I want to make it better though....I hear helper bags help it out in the back but I dunno what to do about the front. (She is kinda mushy.)

I'm sorry Jay about your luck bro, atleast you made a donation to a guy that needs help. That is respectable.

I've been looking into edelbrock ias shocks, as far as the reviews go, and the way they designed the shock. I'd go with them in the front! 76$ a peice.

you should post up pics but i do not believe that you are scraping the front facia, it is more than likely the wheel getting into the wheel well. I have my truck lower than most although it is a RC, i sometimes scrapethe inner liner with my front tires. Also if the back is bottoming out that much then you should increase the amount of travel by cutting off some of the bump stop or replacing them. I pull my car around with a lowered truck and do not have any problems. I made a trip from houston to baton rouge in may to a fun ford event pulling my 3200lb coupe on a trailer down i10 without any problems what so ever.

If you need some assistance you can call us at the shop to help you out. we are located in Clear Lake off of hwy 3. www.psimotorsprts.com or 281.557.2874

I don't think there is any doubt that the SRT 10 QC & RC are on a 2500 chassis.

There is a reason that we weight 5600 and 5200 respectively. Also the presence of the second battery box (i.e. like the diesel trucks) seem to support the 2500 chassis point.

yes they are 4x4 spindles, however every dodge 1500 uses them 2 or 4 wheel drive. cheaper to only make one. next, they used a 2500 frame and nose on these. the cummins engine is almost the exact measurements as the viper, and the rad sits straight verses the v-8's "V" rad and condenser setup. however, we use 2500 front and 1500 rear springs. when they built the prototype, they mix-matched whatever they had to see what they needed to make it work. the front calipers on 04's are from a 01 3500. so many parts are weird mix matched. :dontknow:

you think its because you cut out the bump pads on the front my let it go a little lower, like i said sunday mine road on them all the time, you can look at my lower control arms now and they have permanent marks on them from that but i never bottomed out the front end going down the highway. dud i hate that so much. call boomer he may can give you some advice im sure he would be glad to.

:( the front is done..................looks like a bag of smashed assholes......with all the good one's picked out!?!?!? :(

Most of the rubbing was in the fender wells but the facsia got hit too.

left rear is done:( in 15 mins. It's alot easier when you know what your doing and i've got the drive to do it. Something about not being able to rag on the truck has given me a second wind!

finished awhile ago............ it was a sad day. only took 2.5 hours this time.

THIS IS A LEASON, SOMETIMES ONE MAN'S TRASH IS JUST THAT. TRASH.

thanks for y'alls help.

So if every spindle is the same, why can't we use drop spindles?

With a stiffer spring and a higher spring rate I think Boomers kit would lower your truck BUT without bottoming out. There have to be other QC owners with Boomers 2-4 drop that could chime in.:dontknow:

I have boomers early 2/4 drop kit which honestly is more like 2.75/5..lol!! Honestly I have no real gripes it'll bottom out over real rough ground as i'm maybe .5 inch off the rear bumpstops. I've noticed on a real hard turn in a lil rubbing and the rear pass side liner has a lil marking on it from when it bottoms out but ride quality's good and looks killer imo!!

Going with a home made front 1-1.5 drop and a 2" shackle. I wish they made a 3" shackle!

Yea Boomer's doesn't bottom out but the ride is still going to be alittle low for my driving style. Maybe they will make the high po set of bags from air ride, then it would be just right!

un-dropped :(
