Could someone look this over and see if this person is legit?

Start at the bottom and read toward the top.... Thanks a lot!!!!

I just don't know how to determine whether this is legit or a scam? I've never dealt with anyone in another country. Do you have different currency other than the US Dollar?

Hello ,
Thanks for your mail, I really do appreciate it,well everything sounds good and i'm okay with the price $23,000 and i'll be willing to pay $23,200 So, I would want you to keep all other buyer's off and also delete the advert from the website. Concerning payment you'll be getting a check and also FOR CONVENIENT AND EASY TRANSACTION,I HAVE A LIABLE SHIPPING COMPANY THAT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PICK UP as soon as you receive payment for the Item .I will therefore need the following information of you before the payment is sent just like the way you'll want it to be on the check..

NAME IN FULL........
ADDRESS IN FULL....
CITY.......
STATE...
COUNTRY..........
ZIP CODE........
PHONE NUMBER.
EMAIL ADDRESS

I await your urgent response.

Thanks.

I want to get $23,000 for it. I am the second owner. The first owner only had it for 11,000 miles. I need to sell it since my wife and I are expecting our second child and need to free up a vehicle payment! Thanks!

Sounds funny, the guy can't get to a phone , at any time. I would demand to speak with him and have the bank wire the money to your account befor pick up.

were is he in canada?
maybe get him to wire the money or put it in trust at a lawyer to protect both your interests.
Once the truck is loaded the certified check is released to you.
I would not put the money in a bank account that you use maybe put it in a new account seems kinda murky for me

I can't figure out why he won't call me! I'm sure if he has the money for my truck, he has access to a phone! :dontknow:

when i sold my show car three years ago i had he buyer wire the money and once i had the money in my account he came and got car. It is the only way to protect yourself

Yea that sounds really fishy he can contact a shipping company to pick up the truck, but can't contact you. I know this is 2010 but payphones do still exists and i would think if we have them Canada has them as well, no reason he can not make a call.

Man! :( I get 10 or 12 emails a day that are scams from craigslist!
do they tell you that they researched it through somewhere and want to see if you will come down on the price? thats happened to me twice TODAY on craigslist!!!

Travis, he refers to the truck as the "item". I would stay away.

Sounds a little strange,if he has the cash then he can go to Wal mart a get a pay as you go phone and activate it on his PC!! I wouldn't ship nothing till the funds are CLEAR in your account! The last three trucks I bought I drove there to pick them up with a bank draft and drove them home!

Do this travis

heheheh

set up a single account in a bank you dont bank in.

then send him an email to do a transfer into your account for $5000

adn tell him when that clears, he will need to forward the $23,000 also to you into your account, and when it clears he may pick up the truck and not a day before

and that the $5000 will be released when the 23k clears the bank and the truck is picked up at point of delivery:D

SCAM! Not worth the risk IMO. When dealing with someone from out of the country you will have zero recourse. Also even because the money shows up in your account doesn't mean that it's actually good. Your bank will go ahead and show the money in your account but it takes a few days for the bank to really verify it. When it winds up not being good the money will disappear and your truck will be gone.

Find someone in the states to buy it, that or do something interesting like have the payment put into an escrow account for a week before the truck is picked up.

I guess you could say I know Ebay, visit my store. I have been a member since 99 or so and have over 1,000 feedback.

Please ditch this buyer and delete his emails. Do not respond or communicate with him. Make sure he does not get your personal email address and damn sure he doesn't get any other information.
