Well I am in the process of buying one, have had alot of help from Vader on the boards. But if the QC that I am looking at does not work out I might think about maybe getting a RC. What are the main performance differences between the 2? Thanks.
The RC out-of-the-box was designed more of a 'race truck' with the suspension setup, transmission, weight, etc... The QC has its benefits by its ability to tow, and carry more people. If you plan on modding, then definitely get the RC...you wont have to spend the extra 5-10k on a transmission. -Red
The Qc is great for getting groceries, soccer moms, some light towing and gerneral everyday driving the Rc is basically worthless for anything except breaking world speed records
Hey Rick .. whatever you get bring it to the next Northeast GTG..and take my man Shockey too... Steve
Of course for about 40K you can get it to go fast in a straight line, but it will never corner They call this Super Tanking it  Check out nowwhat's wingless quad
Can they both hit the same top speeds out of the box? I was kinda leary about the quad cabs auto trans only being a 4 speed, but I have also read alot of info about problems with the 6 speed gear box. What is the difference in the 1/4 mile times off the showroom floor as well? Thanks.
No way but I don't the exact time differences, do a search on the forum and you will be amazed at the overwhelming info on this subject
Well, imagine the going to a bar to pick find a new girlfriend. Do you want the over weight, plain looking woman, who ocassionally has broccoli in her teeth, smells kinda funky but always laughs at your jokes, is happy to eat at burger king and always swallows...then get a QC. If you want the hot chick, who's got an ass so hot that you pinch yourself just to remind youself that you arent imagininig it, tits so perky that you could seek a shady refuge on a hot day and legs that could wrap around you twice and still stand up......but the only way she will stay around is to take her out to 5 star restaurants, she is always two hours late, doesnt like any of your friends and she stops swalling after she borrows your credit card to get a pedicure, then get a RC.
The qc has a standard 1500 frame with standard springs and no 5th shock or above the rear end to stop the wheel hop. It doesn't handle worth a crap through corners (I tried one at the SRT track experience and they did not even put one out on the road course) - It did ok down the drag strip in tow haul mode, but there is no comparison to the 6 speeed. I haven't heard of any problems with the transmission except for differences of opinion on the shifter itself some like it stock most dont. Good shifters are available from our vendors here on the site that most like. The premise of the whole truck was to make a performance truck thus the Rc which is built on a 2500 diesel frame with other enhancements not offered on the qc. There are a couple of very fast quad cabs on our forum, but I say RC hands down
I have a Red 05 QC. I've had it up to 140 mph which will get you tossed in jail in most states. So I guess, its fast enough
