What made you go with the AEM? What did you have before that? Right now I have a custom programmed PCM and a Vec II, the VEC II will also be controlling my meth injection. Just wondering if I should make the switch as well?

If you can afford it Sprite bro , DO IT! The AEM is far superior to any flash or Vec II.

With the AEM you can control everything, for one instance, the vec fools the computer by changing the air temp sensor readings which really and actually doesnt work, in reality the engine temp sensor is the one that needs adjusting.

With the AEM you will have totaly control of everything,in all aspects , you will be able to make higher numbers and "better drivable " numbers also.

The only thing I am not sure of is when you take it to get it inspected, around here they connect to the factory pcm to be sure everything works, not sure about your part of town.

Hope everything is going well bro.

Sprite, Stinker is right.....Hennessey told me it was the best way to manage the engine and its system....he has been using it on the Viper TT and just started with the trucks.....He says it woeks very well with the viper motor....also can get the same power from 91 octane I was getting from the race gas with the old flash.....so I decided to do it....why spend all that money and have a sub-standard engine management system.

Ok will see how my current solution works out and then think about an upgrade, but right now I just want to get my truck back and drive it :)

Engine is going back in it Monday, transmission has been built, fuel system has been upgraded, all parts for the PTK kit are here, so definitely moving along.

I guess I missed something along the way? Sprite did your engine blow too?

Stinker, I just wanted to add a correction here. The VECII has nothing to do with the IAT sensor. It does fool the PCM with the engine timing by splicing into the crank sensor circuit. And depending on the application it will block the MAP sensor signal for boosted engines.

I do agree the AEM is a very nice unit especially for heavily modded setups.

Hey Stingray not to start contraversy or anything BUT, there is a new version out that no-one but little ol me has , version s108 where sean has intergrated a new deal with the iat sensor, but your are correct the regular version did not have it. David thoughtthat would correct my problem:confused: So if ya dont have the new corrected version sean can email it to ya, guess I shoulda stated that , oops!LOL:D

that info might be helpful to ya there Stingumray!:D

Oh and Sprite didnt blow his, h bought the ame twin set up that I have and having it installed at Macedo, houldnt be too much longer, he allready has a forged bottom end i n his so shouldnt have any problems.

My bad, I thought he went with STS Detonation Style!!!:shot:

He may have bo, to be honest I'm not sure , what I do know is he has the forged bottom end.

I wish he would post more, I think he thinks I am going to really bash the pro turbo kit, and thats not the case , I think the kit single or twin is going to be great and make seerious power, but it will take some fine tuning on their fabbing to get yourself happy, I just had the bad experience of he said she said, and no-one wanted to take the blame. But I am over all that and its past gone. I like the kit, jsut didnt like how I was treated when things went wrong.

So post up Sprite, send us some pics !

Oh and Maui, enjoy the summer thongs bro!!! We need pics of those too!!!:D

Ahha, good to know. Thanks! ;)

Yes the STS kit killed #3 piston on the dyno and it seemed other pistons has some minor damage as well @ 4500 rpm with good A/F. Engine is rebuild with Diamond Forged Pistons 9:1, Cunningham Rods, other goodies, Suncoast has upgraded my transmission. I decided to not give the STS kit a second chance and instead go for a TT setup.

and if you got a forged bottom end you dont need the meth at all, its just a bandaid

Meth is not a band aid turbo boy....it is a tuning tool....you can always have a bit more....:D ...on your truck it would make her run like it is a cool morning in November

meth absolutely eliminates heat soak as well....

I may even put meth on my GT2...

I have q for the turbo boys...

What hp do you get from straight pump gas...I know John H runs high octane on dyno pulls...
