quitting smoking

Tony I know you can do it. I probably have no room to speak right now but I went cold turkey after 20+ years of smoking 2 packs a day. I quit in the beginning of Nov 2007. I am still smoke free but I did have 3 with the boys in Florida as a special occasion and haven't had any since.

I said all this to say this. Make up your mind and just do it. Keep something dear to you like your truck and reward yourself for not smoking by getting something for her like engine parts. For me it was the Black RC that was my inspiration and if it wasn't for that truck I don't think I could have made it.

The first three weeks were the hardest but the first 5 days were insane. Stick it out for at least 5 days and it will get a lot easier. I know you can do it bro.

I'm sure that your customers will understand if you took a 5 day vacation and I'm sure that all your family, friends, and sheep would understand if you were a little irritable.

Give me a call anytime bro if I could help any.

Brad

Breaking the routine is the hardest part, I'm on day 13 now, and still haven't had one. I like the whole justification part that people have been throwing out there, its actually my biggest motivator right now. I decided to quit smoking so I'll have enough money to afford the increased monthly payment on my "truck" loan once I get back. Thats how I'm gonna buy my SRT once I get outta Iraq. That and I don't wanna smoke in the SRT either

Smoking causes cancer, and anyone that smokes as much as you do, is one dumb son-of-a-bitch!

'Dirty' Harry Callahan/The Dead Pool:D

I smoked once. Back in the 7th grade I took a puff. It sucked. I quit smoking the same day I tried it. Didn't care if the smokers thought I was 'cool' or not - F_ck them!.:thefinger:

Though a few years later I tried beer and I still have no plans of giving that up!

Good luck Tony! If it gets real bad try the patch or gum vs sneakin in a cig here and there.

BTW, I am going to sell tickets for the next GTG when Big Dave smacks you once for every cig you sneak in after you quit :D

We are all pulling for you!

I got my parents to quit smoking and they both smoked for 20-30 years. It can be done....It wasnt too bad, I just tied them up in the basement....oh shit...I knew I forgot something..I'll be right back.

Charles! Did you find your parents?? Here's some more motivation for Tony.

Stinker it is a hard thing to do but it is worth the first few weeks of crazyness. I feel so much better now that I quit.
Brad said he had 3 cigs with the boys in Florida and that is true and I am not happy about that and it is no excuse for him to do that. :)

We are all rooting for you. You can pm me if you want.
