Ronnie’s correct, unless your engine has higher compression (ie: different pistons, cam heads setup) then higher octane is a waste, especially if it has lead. Not much, if anything, to gain even with a tune on a stock engine. It clogs cats quick and even faster on sensors. Next thing you know your chasing ghost gremlins in the tune. Careful diagnostic monitoring for detonation while tuning for power is required to even see if higher octane will help. Of course people want to push the limits and get the most out of their ride but simply adding race gas and a tune isn’t worth a few ponies at the cost of sensors or more.
Unless you’re already modified internally....well then you probably wouldn’t be asking about it here then.
