RAM SRT-10 VIN's starting with 3D5HA16H

I got excited, page 42 found another. Turned out to be the same Gray one I posted.

Great Info!

Here's what I came up with!
2005 SRT-10 Regular Cab
Example: VIN# 3D3HA16H35G733798

3= Mexico

D= Dodge

3= Side Airbags

H= Model> Ram 1500

A= Body Style> Regular Cab Pickup 2-DR

1= Engine Type> 8.3L V10 OHV 20V

6= Transmission> 6-Speed Manual

H= Trim Level> SRT-10 2WD

3= The ninth digit, or check digit, is used to detect invalid VINs based on a mathematical formula that was developed by the Department of Transportation

5= Model Year> 2005

G= Saltillo Truck Plant (Saltillo, Mexico)> The manufacturing plant in which the vehicle was assembled.

733798= Digits 12 through 17 indicate the production or serial number. This number could indicate the sequence in which a vehicle came off the assembly line. Since there is no fixed standard for this number, each manufacturer may use this number differently.

I thought 3rd and 4th were body type? Guess not.
Weight? But then shouldn't they all be the same?

Got me stumped on this one.

3rd digit is Type>
4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th digits are Details>

Not to be difficult..... I know that example because I use a similar one the Registry

The question is with the 3rd digit being a 5 :dontknow:

The VINs are valid, I've seen the door tags and verified twice as valid, but what does the "5" mean. I know what 3 and 7 mean :eek:

Here's a VIN for you to consider

It's valid

3D5HA18H86G100320

Build Date:May 17, 2005

What does the 5 mean

rear window defrost?...

i see that on the website...and i can't say that i've seen that before on any trucks...

I'm thinking that it's more in the canadian trucks, most solid rear windows I have seen have rear window defrost, what about heated mirrors or do all the trucks have heated mirrors??

Just a long shot but maybe it had something to do with where they were originally going to be sold. Perhaps where they were sold they had to be registered as a bus because of emissions regulations? Where were they sold originally?

That's kinda what I'm thinking. Are they Export Trucks Sold over seas?

I think I have the answer, will post up later

Cna't do it from where I'm out, success goes to a Member of the Viper Truck Community

3rd # of VIN Type of Vehicle
#1 Chassis cab
#2 Incomplete Vehicle (Cargo Van)
#3 Truck (w/side air bags)
#4 Multi-purpose Vehicle (w/o side air bags)
#5 Multi-purpose Vehilce
#6 Incomplete Vehicle
#7 Truck (w/o side air bags)
#7 Multi-purpose Vehicle (full size van)
#8 Multi-purpose vehicle (w/side air bags)

This info came out of an 05 estimating guide. Not much help. I'll wait for your answer.

I found it. 5 in 2006 is Truck w/side air bags (pilot or early production). It wouldn't let me cut and paste ( My computor skills suck). I found it at www.dodge.com/bodybuilder, click on year (2006) then on the top boarder click on Technical Info, Then click on VIN id number plate. Hope this helps.

RIP

Had some time to play. If time allows I will post VIN #s of wrecked 10's I find.
