I hear what everyone says...but, but, I think its biological...how can you not do it? I think we need a recreational drug that gives you the thrill of street racing but not the risk...

It is crazy, reckless, and irresponsible...but damn...so hard to say no...

I think we need to create a foundation that provides safe, easy to access places (mini drag strips) that are sponsored by local law enforcement, that allow people to run their vehicles against the clock...then compare time slips..hell charge for it...the loser pays twenty bucks to the police benefit fund...why not????

I like it. Sign me up Prof! When I think of the stupid sh*t I did as a kid its truly blessing i didn't kill myself or others. A hormone soaked brain makes you think your invincible!

Does anyone know where the police department in California is that sponsors drag racing as a community affairs effort?

I want to see if they have any data to support their efforts...

Congrats on the kill, sorry about the ticket. My wife and I test drove an SRT8 Charger and Jeep this weekend. The sales lady said just last week she had a young soldier home from Iraq wanted to test drive an SRT8 Charger, she was busy so a newby salesman was asked to ride with him. They got clocked at 101 mph in a 55 and they took the soldier straight to jail, then called the dealership and told them to come get their car and new salesman! Got to be careful on the street for sure.

Now thats funny!!! Come get your car and new salesman!!! LOL:D

Hell, I'd even pay $20 if I won - Cheap thrill!

For me, 65 miles is the closest dragstrip, but IMO it sucks.

75 miles will get me to two other strips, but who wants to go that far for a quick race?

If we can get some data from police that have tried it, (drags for community relations) we might be able to start a campaign and see if we can get some support for the concept of police providing a legal competitive environment...I know there are lots of barriers, but we can work thru them...where was that police force that tried it???

damn alex....you crazy kid, you...

i haven't had a ticket in my 10 (yet)
but when i had my VR4, i was racing this cobra, and got popped...i know i was doin well over 90 in a 30...but he didn't have me on radar...but knew i was racing...anything over 30...bye bye car/jailtime...

cool cop...got to keep the car...but wrote me for wreckless driving...6 points (we have a 12 point system here), and $800... and wreckless driving stays on your insurance record for 6 years...

live and learn....

oh...nice kill:D
