Raptor 660 vs. Rancher 420...

The 02' Raptor isn't worth 4000$. I HATE honda's so i don't know what yours is worth.

The Rancher is useless as a utility, due to no 4x4, fun wise. As a trail and yard work i'm sure it's perfect. My buddies 420 is 4x4 and I'll take my old Polais 250, or my other buddies grizzly 350 over the honda ANY DAY.

The Rapdaddy, has dual carbs, and has reverse. It's a switch on the right front fender. It's a wonderful and fun bike. Put some gears on it and bigger more aggressive tires and you can tear up the mud too.

What do you have in the Honda?
I bought my honda new, it was a demo at the dealership so i got it out the door around $3600 last may. I test drove it and a rincon 500 and the 420 blew it out the water. My only concern is the raptors durability, if they hold up good or not. I mainly just ride like hell around the farm, the wife rides with me every once in awhile...

No way would I trade the 420 for the 2002 Raptor 660. I don't know what they book for but, you can buy that bike for 1500-2000 in my area. You just gotta watch around.
Oh and yes it does have the dual carbs and yes, they are aweful! Also, this model has transmission and countershaft problems. Stick with your Honda, utilities hold a better value than sport bikes anyway. I know the book value may be higher but try to sell both and you'll see.
The Honda is shaft drive and very maintenance free. I think your model even has front disc hydraulic brakes which Honda was way behind on adding.
Your bike should be worthy to trade for a wayyyy newer sport bike than a 2002.

Well, the guy also has a nice out-door hot tub i could prolly get in the deal to even it out. Im just dont wanna get something that will be giving me problems every time i go to drive the hell out of it. I think i might just keep the rancher, unless someone is interested in buying a hot-tub for an awesome deal!!

YEAH MY 05 HAD DRUMS. I HATED THEM!
and the rear brake keeps sticking. glad the kawi has those wet disc brakes.
i cant really comment of the 660, never drove one. i i was to buy one tomarrow it would be the ktm/Polaris, or the kawa 700.

I have an 03 raptor 660 limited Edition with black frame and black shrouds with ghost blue flames, and I freakin love the thing.

I'd keep the Rancher, the 660 is not much fun. If you get a sport bike, go with a z400 or a 450 racer. The z has reverse so it is much better in the woods.

my 05 SE raptor has reverse

i have a bored and stroked 05 special edtion raptor that mofo is bad. i spank shees and 450r's all day long. i would stay away fron the first couple year modles they made b/c of the transmissions.

Sorry, my previous post lead others to believe the 660 had no reverse. All years Raptor DO have reverse. They are just not good woods bikes IMO. They are too nose heavy for climbs unless the swingarm is modified and then the handling is worse.

Don't get me wrong, I'm buying 2 this Saturday to part.

I like bikes myself, I run a little YZ250F to keep me occupied. My favorite sport atv to date was the screaming banshee. The handling sucked but that engine could be modded to no end.
