Took “ultra violent” to Tony at JTS venom performance in NC yesterday. Numbers look good for simple bolt ons, 80,xxx miles. The laptop died before they could email me the graph.(Charger took a crap.) Great man to deal with, Jeremiah took great care of the truck. Can’t thank the whole team enough. Very nice crew up there. First pull it ran 456/540 at the end it was up to 463/560. Had an off idle hesitation and running fat. At the end the hesitation was gone and AFRs were flatlined around 12 (if I remember correctly). Graph showed improvement, Hp and torque didn’t drop around 6,000 as before. MPG improved as a bonus went from 12.2-11.2 to 14.6 that was on the drive home. Over all smoothed out the driveability, smoother shifts, improved throttle response. Night and day difference. Awesome truck, and awesome people at JTSVP!!

Excellent ,, Tony has always been a stand up Top of the line guy about these trucks even before he started JTSVP . Known as Stinker back in the beginning days of the VTCOA .. I’ll bet most people don’t know how it got the name lol !

Did you tell him to pop in on here and say HEY ?

Glad to hear that Tony got you taken care of with good results and customer service!! Definitely a long time contributor to our trucks! Thank you for your update

He told me he’s been doing it for 21ish years now. He knows the builder of the truck and was going to tell him it was in there. It has a lot of his parts on it. I would like to hear how he got the name of “stinker”. I did not tell him to pop in on here, but I wished I did. You can email him directly going to his website He is a very stand up guy. Kinda going into the oil filter thread I started. He did say to stay away from the “new” SRT filters as they do not have the bypass any longer and to use wix filters, and shell rotella T6 15w40…. I use shell rotella in everything I own lol. T4 in the bike though, the wet clutch material Don’t like synthetic. But next oil change I will be using T6, he also told me every 3,000 miles.

I don’t know where the Stinker an,e came from but may have had something to do with his CB handle as a big rig truck driver , Good ole boy for sure .. Ive meet him at the 1st Panama GTG and his truck the Brutal 10 twin turbos .. Did he mention or show you the Brutal 10.. none of us Know what happened to his truck after the 1st Panama gtg.. I believe it spun a bearing there and he couldn’t drive it back to NC ..
He is a real honest stand up dude and Ive never end heard anyone have a problem with JTSVP or his service . I give him the Radar ORielly award for always finding parts for these trucks .. or having upgrades made .. He believes in quality parts .
JTS is for Joan and Tony Sawyer husband and wifey The VP is self explanatory ..

He never mentioned that truck. It might be sitting at his shop. It was full of them, most of them needing engines, and looking like they been there awhile. He did mention a few were twin turbo setups…. Maybe his was in the mix. I think the next step on mine in future will be heads and cam, maybe forged pistons and rods for ease of mind. Not really wanting to get into the T56 again lol.
I'm thinking stinker most likely CB handle and perfect description of his personality!! Hahahaha

Here's some 33,000 plus posts he's made lol LOTSA good info to peruse

That is allot of posts…. I’ll have to check them out. Can’t learn too much. Knowledge is power…. So I’m told.

A word of warning. The pistons in these trucks are the weak link. They get away with 650-700hp at the flywheel in the cars but I can tell you from experience that once over 600hp the thin ring lands become a problem. Mostly with catastrophic results. If you are very lucky is doesn't destroy main oil gallery and poke holes in the block.

Warning noted. They used the same piston design in the 3.9/5.2/5.9 magnum series engines. 5-6 psi on forced induction was the max they could handle. I’m still not sure why they would cheap out on the viper V10 with those pistons and rods. If I do go with the heads and cam I will most likely do the pistons and rods at the same time. Just makes sense to me while the heads are off.

Finally

Remember to flip them upside down so we don't have to stand on our heads to view them correctly :) :)
