I know there is a post today about the ebc's vs. the performance pad- i think the Posi quiet pads suck they have never broken in and iam not happy with them so, great on dust but sh*ty on noise!- i ordered my cross/drilled rotors today but iam going to go with a different pad- SO i am posting this seperatley so i do not whore the other guys thread. soooo..............
GREEN OR RED pads that is the question? :burnout:

What are Posi-Quiets????

Is that what you are calling Performance Friction pads??

The Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads that I have on my truck ARE NOT called Posi-Quiets and they do not make noise and do not dust.

He's talking about these pads... I have a post a couple down regarding the difference between the Performance Friction (Posi-Quiets) and EBC's with the X-Metal Rotors...

ok thanks for the correction i thought posi quiet were perf. friction-ANYWAY- those aside- RED vs. GREEN? thanks

Good morning to you all.............

Performance friction pads rule..... They're inexpensive, leave v little dust and are noise free...

i have certain options because i have certain vendors i support- bought the posi-quiets- which SUCK- but my other vendor offers the reds or greens- that is the question i am asking- i understand the whole thing about performance pads- but that is not the question :)

The red ones are prettier.:D and more expensive...and wear the rotors twice as fast....and stop better than the greenstuffs.i had green on mine with no complaint from me at all.

I have heard a lot of people going with the "Green Stuff" pads from EBC, with few issues. :) I do remember a debate on them a while back tho. Maybe do a search to see if you can find it on here somewhere. :dontknow:

I thought the reds take a higher temperature to become really good. I ran the greens on a road course a few weeks ago and have no complaints performance wise. If you go with the reds for street use they'll likely not do well because they wont be warmed/heated up enough to give you maximum braking performance.

I have the greens and they ROCK!! I had squeal until I bedded them but since then 5,000 miles and not one squeal even if they get dusty and dirty. I heard the Reds are more for racing/higher temps

dave- thanks for the relpy - iam going with the greens- thats info i was looking for :)

Rice Eater is right and said it better than me, the reds are for racing and higher brake temperatures. I e-mailed EBC regarding their slotted rotors and asked them about the brake pads. I think they said to go with green in the back and yellow in the front (most braking comes from the front) but even the yellows are a bit more for the racing aspect.

thanks for the info Dave and RICE- this the info i was looking for!

i have nothing but praise for the centric posi quiets i bought from dave z......    frankly, this is the first complaint i've heard about them ?? the last guy who still had noise didn't PROPERLY bed his brake pads......

http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm

i would give this a try before you spend alot more money on those dusty ebc's... performance friction could only be an option if you had an '04 - which you do not.......

I've got PF pads up front and the noise level is null along with the fact that my rear wheels get dirtier faster than the fronts. I have EBC greens that I still need to install on the rears but I am waiting for the X-Met cross drilled rotors first... BTW Posi-quiets?:dontknow: Never heard of 'em.

I could have sworn I saw somewhere that is recommended Reds in the Front and Greens in the rear...I will see if I can find that post...
