My question is can you install a JMB grille and still use remote scramblers and detectors behind the metal grille?

Do they even have a speed limit in Casper Wy, what is the about 15 ppl that live out there. They give ya'll speeding tickets? what not a place to live.

:D :D :D :D :D inquiring minds want to know ----how many people live in casper

49,966 People in 2000...

As far your question, have a "radar" scrambler is agaist federal law(if they work). Now a Lidar scrambers will not work behind metal, and even platic reduces it's range by about 20%.

Yes, I have the Passport w/laser shifter and it works just fine behind Justin's Stainless grill powdercoated black. no worries.

Really so you think infared light can pass through metal?

I have the sr7, and the is a perfict gap between the bumper and grill that you can mount the shifters so that they can see the road, even in the install manual it tells you that they must have a "clear view of the road", and they have to be with in 5 degrees of level... Normal radar can pass through solid objects. (K, Ka, X, Ku) so you can mount that sensor just about anywhere, but it will work the best if it can see the road too.

Don't know why it works but it does. The SR7 seems to pick up all the radar signals just fine. The laser shifter does'nt appear to have any problems.

I know they are illegal, but where can I get one that works?
Radar busters.com has alot of good infomation, and they have where you can buy the only known working radar jammer, I think it's out of europe...

Now lidar jammers (when they have that gun thingy out) are easly aviable, they work by shinning a infared beam back a the gun blinding it, it's about 80% effective at 500+ feet, closer than that and it's performance decreases.

Lidar dectors will work behind plastic/metal or what ever, but the jammers will not work if they are behind something, or pointed in the wrong direction.

Here is a link to his short review of jammers, Link

Thanks for the info guys and yes we do have speed limits up here. All radar detectors our legal in our state. Iv' used the V1 in the past and liked it but when I got pulled over Bubba didn't like it and I think he gave me a ticket just in-spite of it...36 in a 30 going down a big hill. BS. So now I'll be incognito legal or not they wont see it.
