Rim Warranty Question

I was wondering today, are rims covered by the Warranty? Since the stock brake pads under normal use caused pitting and damage to the rims and the chrome lost luster quickly, couldn't I make a warranty claim? Before everyone says no, why not? It seems that would be a manufacture defect

Just from past experience, any wear item causeing a defect in a warrantied item is falls back on the wear item not the warranty. But really it depends on your dealer or warranty company! good luck.

wheels are covered under 3/36 however, which wheels do you have? the aluminum polished or not polished. these wheels are clear coated as well. more than likely this isnt a warranty issue. sounds like something was used on these wheels that may have caused your issue? can you post pics?

Your rims were not chrome from the factory, maybe you mean polished.

I took my Hemi in last week because I tnought the leather wheel was showing bad wear. My truck had 2 weeks of warranty left. They replaced the wheel. So like the others said, give it a try.

It is definitely worth a shot but the chances are probably slim on getting new wheels. I.e. the tires pick up rocks, road grim, tar, etc. Are you going to be able to get the bottom of the truck repainted because the tires picked up things and then caused damage to the truck?

Why not try it and see what happens. Just throwing out another perspective on your point. My wheels have the same problem. I keep up on them in the summer but in the winter can't clean them as much and that is when the crap starts to get tough to get off.

My thought is, since the damage is was caused by factory brakes then is not normal wear and tear. The rims are the stock polished ones. The outerface of the rim is fine, but there is clear pitting and brake dust damage.

how many miles are on the vehicle? here's how it'll work... brakes are covered for 12 months or 12k which ever occurs, for defects in material and workmanship. brake dust is normal wear and tear. chrysler will probably look at it as lack of maintaining wheels with proper care.

17k on the truck. If I have a very friendly dealer I think I may have a solution.
