Road trip

Hello all,

This might be a silly question, but I am wondering how these trucks do on long road trips. I realize the MPG consideration, but other than that, how do these motors do on long runs? It seems like these motors put out some serious heat, and wanted to see if there were any known issues with long trips. I am looking forward to attending some shows around the Midwest.

Took several long trips...

SLC, UT to Carlsbad New Mexico and back
SLC, Ut to Bakersfield CA, going through Las Vegas and back
SLC, UT to Oceanside CA x3 and back
SLC, UT to Oregon and back

Lots of other shorter 300 plus mile trips one way to various places around the west and back

never a hiccup, well, one nail and one tire separation from excessive speed over 10's of miles at a stretch (130+)

my longest trip so far is from eastern nc to middle of Alabama to get a mower I got on eBay. mower weighs 1100 with deck. got 17.1 round trip at 80-85mph no issues with anything except not racing with a mower in the bed LOL

no different than your granny's caddy... longest 1 way drive was SC to MI... 12+ hours and no issues...

Crap, know you are in a RC but 75+ mph I get between 10.8 and 11.2. What am I missing or doing wrong? :dontknow:

idk. I have a tune on it but I doubt that helped mpgs.

Drove mine home last march...Neuton north Carolina to Toledo Ohio 9 hr drive... Great drive no issues....All most hit 16 mpg but I couldn't keep my foot outa it!!

The best mileage I ever got was 19.1 from OCMD to PA. That was 6th gear cruising at the speed limit the whole time.

Driving a quad cab...

Not thinking. QC vs. RC weight and stick shift over my auto. But----wouldn't trade my QC cause I get to carry my 3 grandkids at one time and show them what real trucks are make of. :rock:

I have driven on two long road trips. One 5000km, the other 3500km. I had no issues......just handed several people their asses!
