Back to the cold...
I am looking at getting the "Rockblocker" covers for my front, rear, and fog
lights. I have see a few of you have these, any input? From a picture they look great. Please Help!

Is that the thin, plastic sheet that sticks to the front panels of the vehicle?
Answered my own question. Yep.

I've seen these on the SRT Track Experience vehicles. Some look alright. A few vehicles were done (by the installer) not so well, and now finger prints and dust/dirt are trapped under the clear sheeting.

If you are going to do it, make sure the paint/finish is show car-ready, and do it in as clean a room as possible.

Havent heard of them....My friends used to call me a "cock blocker" but thats a different story :dontknow: :D

Have seen the wire rock blockers on 4x4's , anything like that ?

Bucke,
You like em? How long do they take to install?
They look great on you truck! Any special tricks to install?

i like em' the only thing is the smoked really cuts your vision down at night. i found the best way to install them was to remove the light assembly and TAKE YOUR TIME!!! they come with instructions follow them and you'll be ok.

I put this same stuf on my truck. Had a 3M certified installer do it. I had them remove it cause it looked like shit!! It isn,t as bad on light colors but Red & Black really looks crappy!! IMHO!! Especially if there are any scratches or chips already in the paint, the film will magnify it and make it look worse.

Also our truck bumpers are one of the most difficult for applicastion with all the little curves!!

Definitely will protect the paint!! Taking it off is no simple task either!! :dontknow:

there is only 1 spot on one of my lamps where it could of came out better, other than that they all look good. I get alot of compiments on 'em...a black vehicle looks really good with the blue rockblockers!!!

I am talking about the 3m Film for the paint not the headlight covers. You can buy it in pieces, bumper, front grill frame, hood and fenders!

I'm about ready to give them a try. I have the Flame Red, with the lights blacked out it should look hot.
Bucke, any special care? Do you have them on your tail lights?

I have them on headlamps, fogs, and tail lamps. No special care at all. I don't have them on the bumper or hood.

I have it on my wife's black Infiniti FX. It took professionals two trys to get it right. I don't think it is something you want to try yourself unless you have experience doing that type of work.

im a little confused...wont be the last time...either..is this a film or plastic covers?

For the body parts it is a film, has to be put on much like window tint. As Silver said, you probably want a proffesional to install it as it takes some streching and manipulating to get it right. I would also recommend you do this on a brand new vehicle with little or no scratches or chips.

On mine they had problems with the film "Ghosting", in some areas it looked like it had a hase under the film.

It looked so bad on my truck I had them re-do it 3 times and then finally gave up and got my money back!!:dontknow:

Black vehicles are the hardest to do with the film.
