What is the maximum nitrous shot I can use in addition to the SC on stock internals? Is there any benefits to using direct port injection over a single nozzle?

I know of another member who is thinking the same thing. My thought was even a 50 shot of nitrous is similar to 2 pounds of boost (1 pound = 25 horsepower)? Those with more knowledge will chime in but having a motor blow up on me personally...I wouldnt risk it.

I wouldn't run it on top of the Roe. You have other issues that are limiting track times. To do it right, you'd spend a decent amount of money. Save and upgrade your rearend or tranny next.

direct port = Mucho $$$$$$$$$$$$ and I think is a minimum of a 250 shot.

you can get up to a 250 shot with most standard wet kits. I'd think a 55 or 75 shot would be reasonable as long as you pulled some timing using a VEC. A 100 shot plus the ROE SC would be pushing the limits on stock internals.

Agree...nitrous is no good without traction....

Traction is no good without tranny...

tranny is no good in QC :D

What upgrades are needed for the tranny for an additional 50 to 100hp shot of nitrous? I've read that the tranny is gonna go eventually. My goal is to get the truck to run in the 11's in the quarter on street tires. I guess going with direct port injection at this time would be overkill. Thanks.

11's on street tires?!?!?

Thats almost unheard of. If you could do it, it would have to be one hell-of a run.

Get some slick and hope all holds up (tranny) for a few runs...

I haven't ran the truck yet in the 1/4. It seems that 11's is to optimistic. What would the realistic times be for my setup at sea level? I'm planning an outing to Moroso on the 23rd of this month. Is there a shift kit available for the trans that anybody recommends or is everyone with a QC getting a full build?

You aren't going to do it in the summer. You might pull it off in the winter, with real good air. On street tires that Roe will work against you, to much low end tq. Stinker has made quite a few posts about various tranny upgrades, I'd speak with him.

woah sweet dude i didn't see where you lived!! Welcome to the forum and looking forward to meeting up with you on the 23rd:rock: It will be a blast. we are also getting together this friday if you want to meet up in ft. lauderdale PM me.

hey Jared pulled 11's on street tires I believe with the paxton and NOS in a QC so it is doable. I think a dual stage where a bigger shot kicks in later would be key going for that on street tires. but if you haven't ran it on just the SC i would do that and see where you are at. a set of slicks or drag radials would really be key. if i get knocked out of the comp on the 23rd you can run mine and try them.

I don't know exactly what needs to be upgraded in the tranny but i'm sure someone will chime it.

Thanks. I'll research the tranny issue some more. I'll definitely see you there. I guess getting a base line with the SC is the smartest thing to do before spending more money. Does anyone know how to adjust the trans to firm up the shifts? I believe someone already posted this. It seems after the install it is not shifting as firm.

i don't know any other quick fix for the tranny other than a stage II ecu flash with out the fuel part since you have the vec for that. i rode in a qc with the flash and it shifted pretty firm. xmetal or DC perf can do it but be sure you tell them you have the VEC and roe SC.

You can do it...:D Read my signature....Tranny build is paramount....Traction bars are a must....Awesome weather and track conditions should close the deal....Look at the time slips area....

What have you done to the tranny? What was the cost and what nitous kit did you have or recommend?

Suncoast can build you a new tranny, depending on how you want to go you can spend between 4-7k. Suncoast is in Ft. Walton Beach. I'd call them, they could likely do the install and everything for you.
