I HAVE HAD A ROUGH IDLE WHEN MY TRUCK IS COLD.
IT STARTED AFTER I PUT MY VOLANT CAI KIT IN.
WHEN I START THE TRUCK IT IDLES @ AROUND 750 R.P.M.
THEN IT GOES DOWN TO AROUND 500 AND FLUCUATES
BETWEEN 500 AND 700 R.P.M.AFTER I TAKE OFF IT SEEMS O.K.,
BUT STILL IDLES KINDOF LOW 5 TO 600 R.P.M.ANY CLUES OUT THERE:dontknow:

P.S.I THOUGHT AFTER I PUT MY PCM IN IT MIGHT GO AWAY.
NO LUCK, STILL DOING IT.

NEEDS TSB 18-027-05...FLASH PCM TAKE TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER. BUT YOU SAY YOU HAVE A PERF PCM? HOW MANY MILES ON YOUR TRUCK?

So he should take his flashed PCM to the dealer to get the TSB done on it?? Is that kinda risky? :dontknow:

NO DONT TAKE THE FLASHED PCM....IT WILL BRING IT BACK TO STOCK. THAT WAS A QUESTION.

Put your stock PCM back in and see if the condition still exists. If so, take it to the dealer and have them run a check. Either your stock PCM needs the reflash (Which won't help when you put the performance PCM back in) or there is another problem not related to the PCM.

The combination of the Volant and the Stage 2 PCM might be screwing w/ the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). :dontknow: I had to have my TPS replaced a few months ago because of the same problem. Mine would fluctuate so low, it would stall. :(

but would the combination of the K&N cold air intake and flash pcm screwing anything?

IT HAPPENED WHEN I PUT THE CAI AWHILE AGO.
JUST PUT THE PCM IN LAST WEEK.COULD I HAVE SCREWED UP THE
SENSOR JUST IN FRONT OF THE THROTTLE BODY WHEN I PUT THE CAI IN?
HOW ABOUT VENT HOSES.THEY ARE ALL ON.GOING TO BIKE WEEK MONDAY.
WILL HAVE TO CHANGE OUT TO TOW MY BIKE.WHEN I GET BACK, I AM GOING TO TAKE IT IN.LIVED WITH IT LONG ENOUGH.WILL POST UP.THANKS BRO'S

If it's the TPS, you'll want to get that fixed before you take off. If after you put your stock PCM back in and it acts the same then it is something other than the PCM. Probably the TPS but your dealer will pinpoint and take care of it.

Do we have a Mass Air-Flow Sensor in the intake on these trucks? :dontknow: (I haven't had mine apart yet to look. ) Maybe the filter was oiled to heavy and some got on the MAF? :dontknow:

No MAF, these are speed-density systems.

Wont Grow Old - The sensor in front of the TB is just a thermocouple to sense intake air temp. The only way to damage it is to actually break it, which would set a code. You may want to make sure the opening in the sensor is pointing at the TB as it was from the factory though.

Does the Volant CAI modify the PCV system at all?

The stock PCV system draws air from one of the valve covers (passenger side) when the throttle is closed. (Its also the side that allows oil to be sucked into the intake when you downshift at high RPMs - More common on the 6-speeds.) If this has been plugged behind the TB, you will have to make up for the lost flow by opening the throttle slightly at idle. Then you will need to reduce the TPS voltage back to an acceptable idle range to avoid setting a TPS high code.

I DO BELIEVE THAT IS WHERE I HAVE IT.WHERE ELSE CAN I PUT IT.
WITH THE VOLANT THAT SEEMED LIKE THE MOST LOGICAL PLACE.
HOW DO I GO ABOUT REDUCING THE VOLTAGE @ THE TPS ??
NOW YOU GOT ME WONDERING WTF DID I DO!!!
