I saw someting on Horsepower TV about gaining power using Royal Purple... Has anyone even changed out the gear oil in their SRT-10???? Or done the triple purple Dif oil, ATF, and motor oil?

There were was a test done over at one of the LX forums about a year ago where they dynoed several cars then changed the oil with RP....they dynoed 2-4 HP more after switching to RP.......I wouldnt expect much power gains but I am going to try RP the next time I change....not for HP gains but I have read good things about RP other than increasing power..

i think im gonna have to do a oil change when i break her out this summer and will switch to rp.. sounds like it works well..

I did a before and after dyno with RP for the RP distributer here in town. He gave me a case of each oil free, Engine, Auto Trans (5gal), Rear End. Picked up 8HP and 12 FT#'s. Had the dyno sheets somewhere, just can't find them. It also dropped the engine temp by 5*, but the lifter noise was louder. Didn't notice any temperature change in trans. I didn't have the bands adjusted in the Trans at 15,000 miles like I should have. Did it at 37,000. But it looks like my Trans is on its way out any way, I have almost 39,000 miles now.
I would say, if the oil is free, go ahead. RP Trans oil is expensive, plus you need to find someone to change it and they charge $100-$125. I've switched back to the Mobile 0w-40, and I'll change to Mobile 15w-50 at the next change.
There is a benefit to the gear oil though, it already has friction modifiers so you don't need to add any.
I have also used RP in my Manual transmissions. Tremec's and Muncie's. It does make the tranny quieter and it seems to shift smoother.
Speed safe,
Shawn

I did the RP treatment last fall a short time before putting her away for the cold weather. The big thing I noticed was the shifting was a bit easier and smoother, especially when I took her out for a spin when it was real cold out. Cant tell anything with the rear or the motor. I also run a K and N oil filter.

I had mine changed (TRANS,DIFF,ENGINE) No I didn't noticed any power change. But my oil temp is about 10 degrees cooler. The lifter noise is a little louder. I changed the Trans to the SyncroMax RP. This was recommended by RP. I love it the shifting seems to be a lot smoother. Jack drove mine yesterday (FATJACK) and he said mine shifted smooth. Now is that because of the RP I am not sure. The only draw back is the cost. I bought a whole case of oil, the trans, and diff and it cost about 180.00 and then to change it (By a dealer) was 250. So it costs a little more to change it all out but the cooler temps, better gas mileage:rock:. I think it is worth it!

Bought my RP treatment over the winter months...Going to change as soon as truck comes out of hibernation...Here calling for 20-40 cm of snow within next 2-3 days... On top of the 9 feet of snow now...Spring can't come soon enough...Ah Well what can you do...(look at the post from you guys that still have green grass and hope...:)

Who carries RP?

Oil i bought at Oreilys auto parts and the Diff/Trans Fluid i bought at a a speed shop here in tennessee. i am almost positive that Oreilys carries all of it.

What weight is being used for the motor & diff, and what type of fluid is being used for the manual trans. (gear or atf)?
