RUSSIANS new fighter jet......

why is a plane painted with camo...I was un aware there were trees that high up in the air?
oh...and we have the best pilots becasue we have the best tax payers. If someone gave me money for track time, gas, tires, car wear and tear I could probably be a great drag racer.

Low level flying. Fighters look down to shoot them down but only see the camo.

We have the best pilots due to the quality of training.

We are 18th on the list of countries with defense expenditures in relation to GDP:
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/mil_exp_of_gdp-military-expenditure-of-gdp

UK is 40th, but has some damn good pilots too.

the plane it self can take g-forces at an incredible rate..it has safety feature that automatically take the controls over if the pilot allows (obviously not on purpose) a missile to get too close. the plane will actual fly itself so the missile is with in spitting distance of the f-22 and then break into a double digit G maneuver to break radar or signature lock the plane has given up. the maneuver will knock the pilot out and will automatically set a course for home base as the maneuver will damage some of the structural integrity of the plane and needs immediate attention.

Pretty cool shit huh

The Sukhoi 27+37 is a 30 year old design (since it was built to emulate the American F-15C. The S-37 is the new platform.

Its all their best attempt to copy American technology.. In some ways these fighters are masters of ballet, and air shows, but when it comes to actually fighting in combat even our 35+ year old planes have had no problem taking them out in beyond visual range engagements 100% of the time. Our weapons system and detection technology was always decades ahead of the Russians.

The F/A-22 was needed, maybe a few years ago, and will be an amazing reason for one to join the Air Force, but 80% of its air to air abilities will hardly ever be used in combat. –
However, there is no other machine more impressive on earth…

Eritria? Where the f is that?:p

The Russian plane does a nice dance, but it's got to do a lot more than dance to win in an engagement, eh?

It's the pilots that make the difference, we've faced the superior aircraft in nearly every major war, the Me-262, the Mig 15, and whatever the world can throw at us, we have the better pilots.

I would agree that the pilot is key, but am thinking that the statistics for the beginning of the Viet Nam war does not support this. .I dont recall the numbers, but they were pretty significant at that time..I dont remember if it was lack of training, or what the issue was..I seem to recall it was a needed change in tactics or something..

Anyone watch that dogfight show they have on Discovery?..Pretty cool stuff with the computer reenactments..

our better training came during the mid of 'nam....with the creation on Top Gun....it brought back dog fighting and the kill ratio tremendusly.....cant wait to see the F-22 flying at airshows....
