Well no new records, but i had fun and had 2 great kills. I was hoping for some real good air but it was a little warmer than I hoped. The main problem was the starting line prep. As it was "street drags fun night" , there were lots of street tires and imports to ruin the track. My best 60' of the night was my last pass, a 1.715, leaving at 3,000 rpm (about 1,500 lower than usual) with 16 lbs of air in the M&H cheaters. I was in the "time only" line and I challenged a C6 Z06 (505hp, 427 cu.in.) who had been eliminated. My best pass up till that point was 11.948 and he had 11.83 dial on his window, so I figured it would be a close race. I talked with the owner (much younger than I) and it was stock with an intake and a tune (448 rwhp) and he was on street tires. First race went like this: my RT .017, his RT .433, my 60' 1.752, his 60' 2.099.....my time 11.898 @ 118.092 to his 11.922 @ 116.572:rock:, winning margin .440 (about 3-4 lengths) SRT 10=1 , Z06=0. He was real nice, but wanted to go again, so we raced one more time(my last pass of the night and only 35 minutes later, so the engine was still a little warmer than I like). Second race went like this: my RT .056, his RT .408, my 60' 1.715, his 60' 2.306(I think he tried too hard).....my time 11.902 @ 117.261 to his 12.486 @ 122.407:rock:, winning margin .936 (about 9 lengths) SRT 10=2, Z06=0. I hope I made you guys proud. Here are my runs for the night:

Run 1: 7:18pm 77 degrees, DA 1468, 60' 1.791, 1/8th 7.662 @ 92.440, 1/4 mile 11.948 @ 117.653.

Run 2: 8pm 70 degrees, DA 1002, 60' 1.798, 1/8th 7.697 @ 91.780, 1/4 mile 11.954 @ 117.786.

Run 3: 9pm 66 degrees, DA 728, 60' 1.752, 1/8th 7.653 @ 92.013, 1/4 mile 11.898 @ 118.092. Z06 kill:rock:

Run 4: 9:35pm 63 degrees, DA 516, 60' 1.715, 1/8th 7.605 @ 91.716, 1/4 mile 11.902 @ 117.261. Z06 kill:rock:

The first two passes, the other lane was an import of some sort and the winning margins were over 5 seconds each time, so no real race....they were so SMALL in the rear view mirror, it was hilarious:D:burnout: Lots of people came up after the Z06 race and were wild about the truck. One person captured the race on their cell phone and will try to send it to me. I will try to post it, but I'm not sure if I can. I don't have it yet. A couple of old timers (my age group) came up and really enjoyed my shifting....all they could say was "man you shift the Sh*t out of that thing".

Nice passes, was this with your light doors and everything? Jack he does have full slicks, they are DOT legal so they are referred to as cheater slicks because they can be run in a race clasd that requires street legal tires but they are slicks

Now put some real slicks on it and drop your ET 2 tenths.

Your best 60' is 1.54, and last time out at Famoso I cut a 1.57, so its all about the track. I believe all you guys at PCB were complaining about a slick track....what was your 60' at that race.....and your 1/8th with N2O was what?...a 7.77, well I had a 7.60 on a slick track and no N2O, and I had a 7.44 last time at Famoso. I really feel the Nosalgia M&H slick is just a little too tall for my NA engine. They are 32" tall and my 12" wide Cheater slick is 30" tall.....it makes a difference. After I rebuild with heads and cam I may have to go with the full slick, as I will need more gear to finish the 1/4 mile.

Yep, lightweight doors and all, I was trying to hit 119-120 mph, I knew the starting line would not be the best, but I was hoping for negative DA. My first pass last night I had the tire pressure too low and past the 1/8th mile I was all over the track ( very scary). I added 2lbs of air to firm up the sidewalls, but I still have radials in front so its not the best setup.

Nice job Jerry, sounds like you had a great time and made a few decent passes.

Great job beating the Z06!! I hope you get the video. You really have that thing dialed in well.

What H/C combinations are you considering?

Talking with Greg Good, possible GenIV heads with larger valves, custom cam by greg.....and I'm trying to get a GEN V plastic intake....just trying, not having much luck.

Aren't you going to need a very large cam to take advantage of ported Gen IV's? Have to tried going directly to Mopar for the Gen V intake?

Ported heads don't mean you need a big cam, the heads flow air the cam just decides when the air enters the engine(very basicly). When the heads are ported your looking for more flow at the same cam lift as you had before.

Greg Good likes the one a Viper guy used with the GG Gen III heads that made 643 rwhp NA. He wants me to try a "solid roller", says the new rockers won't require as much adjusting and I could gain as much as 30ftlbs over a hydraulic roller. Just starting my quest for the intake in as much as they aren't even out yet.
