So I have my Paxton all dialed in with DC tune and all was well at the dyno the numbers came in on the money. Before the Paxton I had the SCT tune with 3 tunes but now Im wondering is it of any use at this point for future mods. As always thanks for your input.

not sure i understand your question........ :dontknow:

did you load your dc tune with your sct ?

myself, i have a couple of 93 octane tunes & a valet tune on my sct..... the valet limits the rpm to 2500, good for when you have your truck in for service & ya don't want them roddin' your truck...... :D

Well like MoparRacing mentioned you can keep your SCT for a Valet tune or tunes for any future mods you may want to do.

I can think of a good mod right now for anyone with a QC that is n.a. or forced induction- You can have your tuner set your 3-4 shift r.p.m. higher than it is now so your engine doesn't load as heavily when it short-shifts from third to overdrive at wide open throttle (which is right where they can detonate... under load and pushing a lot of air).

I've got my 3-4 shift coming in at 125 m.p.h. It has a top-end charge from hell...

Don't forget your SCT is also a code reader...

Should have clarified. I sent my ECM and the Paxton FMU to DC where they programed them for my mods. The SCT was prior to the Paxton install it had the basic 3 octane tunes in it.

Did you put the vehicl back to stock, before you sent the ECM to DC?

Yes I put everything back to stock before I sent them to DC

well bud i put it to my customers like this

if you plan on future mods or want a "race tune" for track days, or just plan on "tinkering" with things to get more power then a SCT or VECIII is the way to go, the vec is unlimited in tunes, the SCT is limited to a few

But if you are jsut going to install certain mods and leave it that way , then jsut a good reflash is all thats needed, no use in spending tons of money for something you really want ever use;)

actually not completely true...... i actually have 5 tunes currently on my computer that i can switch into any of the 3 slots in my SCT, the amount of tunes can be unlimited (only limited to 3 @ a time).... ;)

LOLOOL ok I got a "few" fingers on my hand:p

what I was meaning is the number of tunes for the vec is endless, with only a card swap, to change around the tunes for the SCt requires a lil work, it all depends on how laxy ya r:D
