sct

wouldnt the one that sold in about 2 seconds have been locked.it was used and had one tune.it obviously had to be locked or someone unlocked it.either way ,it sold and obviously wasnt wortheless

My understanding is that you have to return your vehicle to stock and then just have the new owner's VIN installed by a dealer??:dontknow:

I put the stock tune back in truck before i sold it.that was kinda what i thought i had heard.

if it was returned to stock it will work,,,if it was not returned to stock it wont work ,,unless you pay up to clear it

there was someone here that bought one and was not told it was locked and he was really pissed,,,he got it off ebay ,,,dont think he ever got his cash back ,,,

yea it got to go back to SCT and it cost 150.00 to get it unlocked

stinker bids 20.00 ill bid 21.00 $

I think it can do up to 5 different vins, then it has to go back to SCT for unlocking. It should say in the tuner menu, how many it has left. When I got mine it said that I had one remaining.

i thought i heard that as long as the sct was returned to stock & hadn't been reinstalled in more than 3 different vehicles/times, that it would be fine...... not too sure about the vin having to be programmed in, doesn't the sct read that off the pcm when loaded into it?....... :dontknow:

the sct is generic, the tunes make it year/cab specific..... i was told by roe that they would send 3 tunes for ~$200.00 if you don't like the ones provided with the sct you're buying if it has them.....

the one he has is still vin locked cause he did not return it to stock;) once it is returned to stock you can use it up to 4 different vins ,,,wont have to have it vin flashed ,,just cleared of locked vin
