I've been playing along here is one email...
GAWD are people stupid enought to fall for this crap???:dontknow:

I have started the eBay process!
eBay have sent you a separate email confirmation with the payment instructions.
If you haven't received it please check your Junk, Bulk or Spam email folder because this is a very secured email and your email server may reject it.
Because completing the payment please move the eBay email in Inbox.

Now go to a MoneyGram location and send the deposit on the eBay COD officer name and address.

Payment address (eBay COD officer name and address):
First name: Gavin;
Last name: Rogers;
Address: 2145 Hamilton Avenue;
City: San Jose;
State: California;
Zip: 95125;
Country: United States;

Now I'll wait your reply with the payment confirmation and please let me know if you have received the eBay confirmation!
After you will send the payment please fax the Reference Number and the payment details from MoneyGram to the eBay center at: +1 (831) 854-9523 or +1 (941) 827-4842.

Best regards!

Here's another...

Hi again,

The bike is already at the shipping company in Philadelphia, PA ,sealed and ready for the shipping. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them.I'm very busy with my job and I'm left out of the town so I can't meet in person with you,this is the reason why I chose to sell my bike over the internet. According with the eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the bike to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
Here is how it will work:
1.First of all I will need the following details from you:
- Full Name
- Full Shipping Address
2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay.
3. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices. The invoice will show you the details on how to make a refundable payment.
4. eBay will contact me and I will ship the bike to you. After you receive the bike you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the bike. If you will buy, then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money.
5. If you will decide that you will not buy the bike, eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my bike.Please get back to me asap if you decide to buy, and include in your e-mail your full name and address where you want it shipped so I can start the deal with eBay. You will receive all the transaction payment and shipping details from them.
Best Regards,
George.

I'm trying to figure this out. First of all, it appears to have been written by a 4th grader hehe.

The address is eBay's address in San Jose.

The first number is unlisted in Santa Cruz.
The second number is unlisted in Bradenton, FL.

Yup, sounds like you have been had.

I hope you get your money back, better get the CC company involved right away!

I dont think hes been scammed, dude was just trying to scam him. Yes PT Barnum proved there are plenty who will fall for this.

Give the aution # and I will look for this guy on our local motorcycle forum. The local motorcycle forum is about 26,000 members.

That address is a ebay address. If you google it via satelite. Those building are ebay.

I didn't send any money... I just kept messing with him to see the entire scam...:D

ANNU... Where are you???:dontknow:

I've fwd ed all the emails to Ebay. Maybe they can track him down. The source codes on all the links in the email he sent are a page long. I think it is more designed to access my accounts IF I had paid through a link...

I've been itchin to ask.. Why even waste your time dealing with this jaggoff? I've been using eBay for many years and never once have I seen eBay work in the manner he describes. I would tell him to take a walk until his hair floats... OR just get Annu and crew on it.

The email and "seller's name" is...:argh:

George Weinberg [[email protected]]

I think an INTERNET genius should attempt to buy from him and help track him down... But he's probably in Nigeria...:mad:

Have FUN with it!!!:D

The more I learn the less likely I'll be scammed...:dontknow: I knew it was a scam but wanted to see the angle.

I get these all the damn time when I use autotrader, cycletrader, or craigslist. Just remember if the deal sounds too go to be true then it probably is. I emailed cycletrader my problem and they closed all the guys listings and sent me a voucher for a free posting if I ever try to sell anything on their site.
